work from home? i think most their work could probably get done from home. at least the game making side, not sure about everything else. most the big game companies could probably get some bailout. as for games that are getting released at these times? all major platforms got access to digital so maybe some decline in sales? tho the industry is known for having layoffs be part of the norm. there would probably be delays in ongoing projects thats for sure. but i imagine sales being high. there was a recent steam article saying they had like a 20% increase a few days ago.

i dont have much experience with hard drive utility programs, so i cant say smart is a good program to use for that. it could be but i wouldnt rule out hd failure. anyways like i said in the other thread, sometimes windows update can fuck shit up and going back to a previous version where everything worked fine is the best solution. also you should turn off sleep mode. its really only good on laptops. sleep mode can cause more headaches than what they are worth. well the good news is that data is never really lost and almost anything can be retrieved, long as its not damaged. bad news is im actually kinda unfamiliar with this process since its one i dont use much. im sure you could find something on youtube if you really need to.

i actually like this idea for you too. you can even do both when this thing is over. use the online space for more advertising.

doing a fresh install doesnt mean you gotta buy another copy of windows. it will recognize the hardware you registered on. also windows is free. a windows reinstall is not a bad idea. sometimes shit gets messed up on a systemic level for one reason or another and a new install just fixes it. i dont think its any hardware issue but sometimes drivers can fuck things up.

yeah i never used the program but i think i've ran into some similar type of problem. things like making sure you got the latest updates on windows your using, or going back to a previous version that worked, having the latest versions of the programs you running. could be a known issue. check the settings on the programs youre running getting them back to default. things like that i would try.
