I wonder if Food Wars will fail harder than Lupin III did? Again, I enjoy Lupin III, I love the quality of animation even if the style is retro, I enjoy the characters, it is a lot of fun to watch, but it is not what the audience is after. At this point, I'm wondering about the Blade Runner anime, because I don't see much in the way of money (or a block) to premiere it on.

That programming attempt only works when you have a connection with the audience. Toonami no longer has that unique connection to the audience, and DeMarco's sanctimonious outburst on Twitter demonstrates why. They need to find a way to engage with the audience in a positive manner to build that relationship. This is the kind of relationship that they need to re-build.
