  1. I didn't really have it all that long. We switched from Dish Network to Verizon mid 2011, and I only discovered that I had the channel in the fall of that year.
  2. Yeah, I do miss the Funimation Channel. I always remembered coming home from school and throwing that on for 6 or 7 hours while I did homework or the like. Say what you will about streaming or on demand, but there's something about a linear channel showing 24 hours of anime that's just special to me.
  3. Well color me surprised, both of these things are good news! I'll have to give the Bleach movie a look, then.
  4. Lol and I actually watched this one, too.
  5. I found DITF to be relatively inoffensive for the most part, but I can definitely agree that the story just did not click together properly. Like, first it starts out like an EVA clone, then it decides it wants to reconstruct EVA... and that's not even considering the massive lapses in judgement and common sense that have to be necessary for some of the character relationships to develop (I'm looking at you, Mitsuru).
  6. I'm still waiting on the live-action Bleach movie that was promised years ago. While I hate the idea of American live action anime movies, I don't feel this is anything much to worry about yet. I doubt that studios fail to realize that live action adaptations of anime typically bomb in the US. Dragon Ball Evolution is obviously the biggest example, but there was also Death Note, and especially Ghost in the Shell. If I had to guess, studios are just buying the rights to sit on them and prevent anyone else from adapting the property.
  7. It's been a while since Toonami has been able to stun us with an announcement a week before premiere. The people who are saying the rights came down to the wire for this one are probably right. I haven't watched Mob Psycho but have definitely heard all about it, so I'm up for the ride. Assuming I get caught up with Toonami At least I guess this explains the random One Punch Man rerun on the block.
  8. Well this fucking escalated. But of course, this is SAO we're talking about, so that's a given.
  9. I had a little extra money and was considering getting VRV, but after this announcement, I'm not so sure... I doubt it will be an issue for Funimation (people will just subscribe to Funi if they want to watch), but Funi and Crunchyroll's partnership dissolving is still a pretty big hit. I've never even heard of HIDIVE before entering this thread; to be completely honest with you, when I first saw the title I thought it was a hentai site. Partnering with Crunchy will probably be good in giving them exposure, but if their lineup is as small as people say it is, the exposure might do more damage to them than good.
  10. Is that antagonism I sense? -10 points.
  11. Haven't watched this yet, but I've heard plenty about it. Seems like this is a good Toonami pickup.
  12. You're only replying to this NOW? Your point is invalid solely for that reason alone.
  13. It's CGI? Well then, I'm out before it even began.
  14. Dammit, Daos! I haven't watched season 2 yet! Though I'm getting more inclined to start it sooner...
  15. DeMarco wanted to get Nadia? Huh. I always thought that Nadia would have worked out on daytime Toonami. Though I'm sure they would have had fun editing it to death.
  16. Am I really the only one who wants to see Sword Art Oberon? I have the strange feeling that I am...
  17. Don't forget attempted suicide to save someone's life. Seriously, though, Shuffle was a really fun show to watch.
  18. Ooooh I'm good at this. While catenation most readily occurs with the element carbon, both silicon and germanium can also catenate to lesser degrees.
  19. 52 episodes too many. Well, unless Oberon returns. As the main character. If that were the case then I'd watch in a heartbeat.
  20. Well, this thread...turned. It was a fun read though For what it's worth, So yeah, that's my thoughts about it. If you have problems with them, that really sucks, because I don't give a shit. This will be my first and only word on it.
  21. While this does seem to be a good thing for Toonami, I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned as to whether the block can sustain itself being as long as it will be. I mean, while DBZ Kai may have been one of Toonami's highest rated shows, they're still leading off with a rerun. What I can say, though, is that I'm actually glad Shippuden is back at the front of the block. It always felt odd having it at the end of the block. It felt out of place there.
  22. Oh God, please, anything but Angel Links. In all seriousness, I don't know why they would every consider it for Toonami nowadays. Toonami doesn't seem much in the business of doing smaller, no name shows anymore. Kind of a shame, really, since it was a nice change of pace from the big names. Well, assuming the show was good, anyway. I can't even suggest a good joke show to come to Toonami. Eureka Seven: Ao, maybe, but just because that show is objectively the worst show I've ever watched.
  23. I'm impressed that Black Clover's run got extended. Is it really doing well enough on TV in Japan to warrant it?
