  1. I beg your pardon; it was actually the DST movie Children Who Chase Lost Voices. There were also Japanese audio episodes of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and Hunter × Hunter that premiered at 2:45 AM and 3:15 AM, respectively. Nonetheless, the list of 3 AM premieres is quite short: Tenchi Muyo! GXP episodes 6-26 Beware the Batman episodes 1-11 & 20 Black Lagoon episodes 19-24 Hellsing Ultimate episodes 1 & 2 Children Who Chase Lost Voices And finally, Naruto Shippuden episodes 231-??? Unless you count the April Fool's Day stunt, this will be the first time a show has premiered at 3 AM in over 2 years!
  2. I think we'll get Origin either when or soon after IBO ends!
  3. No, it's 3 weeks to wait on new episodes. Not the same thing!
  4. I hate that these episodes aren't getting reruns at some point. Fortunately they're all on my trusty DVR and they got one hell of a timeslot, but was an 8.5-hour MHA marathon REALLY out of the question?
  5. Well, looks like the stream DID advance this weekend, to Episodes 83-87! So I guess that means we got 78-82 from Monday-Friday, then 83-87 from Friday to today. And now it's GUNDAM UNICORN again!! I wonder which episodes...? EDIT: Looks like toward the middle, I suspect 13-17, but it's unclear. Don't worry if you haven't seen it from the beginning; this one has helpful recaps! EDIT 2: It's actually 11-15. Hopefully it advances this weekend...
  6. Just saw this episode all the way through, and I gotta say the Stain mini-arc was probably the best yet in the show. The tournament arc might have been a miniscule step backward, but these last 5 episodes or so more than made up for it. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-30/.119505 Rating: "A". Quite apt if you ask me! Of course it ended 2018 with a BANG, and the episode didn't end on a cliffhanger, so good timing on Toonami's part, especially because the next chapter of the series, the final arc of Season 2, will air at Midnight on the Better Cartoon Show next year!
  7. See ya 'round, DBZ Kai! Maybe, just maybe, this show continues at 8 PM next year, IF [as] gets 8 PM back? I still have a feeling Dragon Ball Super and My Hero Academia will get weeknight runs as part of a reborn Midnight Run, but maybe I'm way off-base here...
  8. I'm not really sure what to make of this new schedule. It has both pros and cons. The Good: No change to Dragon Ball Super; Megalo Box at 1 AM. It's good that Megalo Box is on an hour later because most Cable TV boxing is over with by then. While the first 2 episodes of Megalobox conflicted with ACTUAL boxing, going forward that will probably rarely be the case. Now if only [as] shells out the dough for Megalobox topicals to air on ESPN's Top Rank Boxing... The Bad: ALMOST EVERYTHING is an hour later. While it might be decent for Megalo Box because of lack of conflict with live events of the medium that it depicts, the same can't be said for most other shows. Boruto's dub premiere following DBS makes sense I guess, and Mob Psycho didn't do that great at 11:30 and it's not a dub premiere so it makes sense to be at 12:30, but JoJo has NEVER gotten a premiere later than 1, and suddenly next year it will be at 1:30. Ditto for Black Clover and Hunter x Hunter. BC has previously only been on at 1:30 at the latest, but the next episode premieres at 2. Hunter x Hunter got an insanely late 2:30, when the latest it's premiered is 1:30. Adding to the insanity is two of those shows are dub premieres, and the other might not be but it first aired in Japan just 3 months ago. As for HxH, I daresay 2:30 is the latest Toonami has ever aired a dub premiere. Am I right? The Ugly: My Hero Academia kinda got screwed, falling all the way from 9:30 to Midnight, when previously the latest it aired was 11:30, and Shippuden fell all the way from 10 PM to 3 AM, which is the largest drop yet for a Toonami show. Last time a premiere aired in that timeslot was...Hellsing Ultimate II, I believe? I guess Attack on Titan at 3:30 AM makes sense, since that's the timeslot Season 2 reruns got, even if it is a little disappointing. And Good Lord -- I guess technically we can call Pop Team Epic and Gundam IBO reruns "expansion" shows, but they're in the 4 AM hour! It's tough to stay up that late even in Central time!
  9. Yeah, I thought the movies would come back as a result of Toonami's intrusion into 9 PM. Turns out it was just an "experiment." The Dragon Ball Super marathon coming up this weekend will probably be the highest ratings we've seen in a while!
  10. Me too, even if it's at 4:30 AM! (Well, 3:30 my time...)
  11. I thought that was a really good episode, even if it DID make the Black Bulls' motivation for going through all that seem pretty useless when Nero/Pecker just finds the stone Geezer forgot about out of nowhere! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-50/.137034 Rating: "B". Well, on to the next one next year I guess! It'll be at 2 AM; hope y'all can stay up for it!
  12. As for the farmers, I think we're supposed to assume that Josuke already healed them offscreen? https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/jojo-bizarre-adventure-diamond-is-unbreakable/episode-16/.104384 Rating: "B+". I thought judging from the glowing language in the review, it might get better than that. I thought that looked like more like an "A" review.
  13. Is he really gonna gouge out his eye? NOPE! No review this week. I don't get why it waited until Episode 3...
  14. Hate that we kinda ended this week on a cliffhanger; the wait for the next episode is gonna be GRUELING!! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/mob-psycho-100/episode-7/.105656 Rating: "C". DAMN! A rare miss for tonight's episode!
  15. Yeah, this show returns the night of January 5th at 3:30 AM!
  16. We get it on the 29th after the Boruto marathon.
  17. This was originally the last episode of Season 1. It was a perfect way to end the series without actually ending it!
  18. You might be right about that. But Mika and Orga do say "To Mars!" at the end of Season 1!
  19. "Welcome Back!" "Good to be back!" See you one last time this year for the next-to-last Toonami show of 2018! ON to Samurai Jack!
  20. Yeah, for real! Man, what an entrance!
  21. Meet a bunch of jackasses: the Seven Stars!
  22. Oh yeah. For some weird reason, the title card of this episode was blanked-out, but it was: #26: New Blood
  23. I thought they chose to go back to Mars?
  24. Can you spot all the differences? Part B after the break!
  25. Next episode...and a reference to Gundam before Gundam returns to Toonami! Episode #5 - Donca Sis
