  1. That's why they can probably double up Fire Force reruns for a week or two...
  2. Yeah, like they're gonna pull the regular lineup for 2 weeks, put it back for one, and then run a damn marathon? That'd be a "no!"
  3. I have to admit I don't really care for the fact that it seems to be cutting off JoJo on a cliffhanger--seriously, the fact that this couldn't wait just ONE week is annoying!
  4. Maybe if this does well in the ratings, we'll get Batman Ninja somewhere down the line?
  5. While this is pretty cool, I do kinda wish they had done ONE movie a night for 4 weeks instead. Sure, that would have meant JoJo at 1:30 again if Toonami began at Midnight, but the real question is: why even start DC Movies at Midnight? This deserves an 11 PM or even primetime start! Other observations: this means regular lineup is likely again for 9/5 (Labor Day weekend) and Fire Force may be doubled-up at some point. Perhaps that October 24th date is somewhat fluid. Also, this will certainly slow Black Clover down, but DAMN, that's a lot of Batman!
  6. Well, that's not very reassuring... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-1-2020.html It's at least better than it usually did at 2 AM in key demographics, right?? "Adult Swim’s line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.08/194K & 0.07/195K and 0.18/335K compared to last week’s 0.07/211K & 0.11/249K and 0.27, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE at 0.17, MOB PSYCHO 100 down 0.07 to 0.16/270K, BLACK CLOVER down 0.07 to 0.15/242K, NARUTO down 0.04 to 0.11/195K, and SAMURAI JACK at 0.09/173K." Crap. We don't yet know Ballmastrz, but from what we do know, last week's lineup (7/25) was 9th overall for the year (5th from 12-3 AM), and was 5th for the year so far in 18-49 (4th from 12-3). However, this week (8/1), the number of total viewers in every timeslot was LOWER than the number of Adults 18-49 one week prior! Dead last for the year and only better than one other lineup last year (7/6/19, the block's all-time nadir).
  7. While we wait for this weekend's JoJo ratings to come in, let's take a look back 5 years at the time ShowBuzzDaily seems to have forgotten the series finale of Kill La Kill was a premiere: Will Golden Wind do #3 or better? We'll find out soon!!
  8. Huh? I don't think that's true at all. They'll probably have at least the first 8 through by then.
  9. The most it could possibly be is 10: October 24th and 31st November 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th December 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th And since I'd say Halloween, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and the day after Christmas will definitely be holiday marathons, that leaves 7 at the most.
  10. Oh yeah, you're right! I knew it was stuff like Assy McGee, but I forgot somehow T&E was there too!
  11. They're not doing dubs for them yet. Just as well. If Toonami ends up airing them, I'm thinking it would probably be next year in conjunction with the 5th season. But OVAs are sketchy at best. So far only Lupin OVAs have actually made it to air (two of Part 4 and one of Part 5). We never even got the FMA:B or AOT OVAs! We did, of course, get one OVA series (Hellsing Ultimate).
  12. That would certainly be interesting! It depends on how long the block would be, but at its current length we'd go back to Episode 12 if they can do that!
  13. 2008 was the last time they aired anime on weekdays--InuYasha at 5:30, until 2018, when Dragon Ball Super got a 3-month run in the 8 PM and later 8:30 PM slots on weeknights. And then again this year MHA aired at 5:30 AM for about 2 months. Of course, other non-anime action shows, such as Samurai Jack, have also gotten limited runs on weeknights, but most of those have either been at the front or the back of the lineup. Only recently was Samurai Jack's Season 5 featured at 1 AM on weeknights!
  14. Fire Force Season 2 will be continuing, and in fact with only 6-7 of its episodes airing in 2020, the bulk of its content will be in 2021. Perhaps that gets replaced by the returning Dr. Stone, which is coming either in Winter or Spring 2021. We've also got The Promised Neverland Season 2, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and yes, more Food Wars is also a potential. As is Mob Season 2--you've gotta think that's gonna show up SOMEtime. And also, won't there be MHA Season 5 as well? So based on just what we know, 2021 may not be as fat as 2018 or 2019, but it at least looks to be thicker than 2020. That IS, of course, if both our country and Japan can manage to shake the coronavirus. At least Mob Season 2 and Food Wars Season 3 would be unaffected by that! Getting back on the subject of Fire Force, FUNimation has produced this nifty little video that runs down the first 14 episodes, conveniently catching us up to Episode 15's rerun at 1 AM this Saturday night!
  15. Remember when we thought it would be a package deal with InuYasha: The Final Act? Turns out if it WAS some kind of package deal, it was just for more Bleach. Yeah, 2009 was pretty much all just about Bleach, the continuation of Code Geass R2, and the rest of Moribito. 2010 was even worse, with only FMA:B, Kekkaishi, and more Bleach making the lineup fresh. And 2011 only added Durarara!! to the mix. Compared with the dark ages of ASA, even incredibly tough 2020 is much better for Toonami.
  16. How about a 5-hour Ballmastrz: 9009 marathon!? There ARE things that would be worse than a Dragon Ball Super marathon!
  17. There's this one episode toward the end of the 2nd cour which has one of the characters saying "asshole" like 20 or 30 times. That's kinda amusing, and would probably do decent in the ratings. Come to think of it, an episode of Ballmastrz that aired last night did something similar! I guess us assholes will see!
  18. They've also cut back on a lot of their streaming offerings too: MHA is no longer streaming (but Season 4 Part 2 is On-Demand) Only a few episodes of Demon Slayer are streaming (no clue what this means) One-Punch Man is down to Season 2 streaming, which means I guess they had Season 1 on a 4-year deal? genLock's first episode is no longer streaming, which might imply that each episode was contractually available for a year. Lupin the 3rd: Part 4 has finally been pulled DBZ KFC arguably got treated the worst of any of the [as] era Dragon Ball pickups. Each episode only aired once, save for a few marathons. Yes, many of them got to stream on the streaming channel from 2017-2019, but since that thing was hamstrung to just 5 episodes a week, I don't think they all streamed on it (they were all offered individually, however).
  19. That doesn't sound very lean to me. Plenty to look forward to, which is in contrast to 2020, which started out somewhat strong but has wound up leaner than 2015. It might be a rough beginning of 2021 but hopefully by fall it will be off to the races!
  20. I'm not sure how in the heck that happened; I think THIS is what it was supposed to be: https://www.funimation.com/blog/2020/04/25/dub-from-home-the-latest-news-on-simuldubs-my-hero-academia-black-clover/?utm_source=social&utm_medium=org-social&utm_campaign=dub-from-home&utm_content=updates-blog&utm_term=
  21. ON RIGHT NOW: EPISODE XCIV (Season 5, Episode 3)!
  22. And of course we end on a cliffhanger!
  23. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-127/.157917 4 stars! Black Clover returns to some of its former glory with this mostly expositional episode!
