  1. Page 128: To The Heart Kingdom!! Black clover's gonna need to take a break for a little while, but not without leaving us with the beginning of an exciting new story arc! 1:30 AM tonight (8/8/20), ONLY TOONAMI!
  2. Episodio 30: Green Tea and Sanctuary, Part 1 JoJo continues this week, but will no doubt leave us with a ridiculous cliffhanger before taking a 3 week break for Toonami's Dark (K)nights! 12:30 AM tonight (8/8/20), ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  3. Well, the good news is that Family Guy didn't even crack 500K: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-canadiens-penguins-on-nbc-earns-second-most-total-audience-of-nhl-season-to-date/ And here's all of Toonami's numbers: Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (Adult Swim, 12:00 AM, 30 min.) • 0.335 million viewers • 0.231 million adults 18-49 • 0.18 A18-49 • 0.18 A25-54 • 0.05 A55+ JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures: Golden Wind (Adult Swim, 12:30 AM, 30 min.) • 0.291 million viewers • 0.215 million adults 18-49 • 0.17 A18-49 • 0.17 A25-54 • 0.04 A55+ Mob Psycho 100 (repeat) (Adult Swim, 1:00 AM, 30 min.) • 0.270 million viewers • 0.209 million adults 18-49 • 0.16 A18-49 • 0.16 A25-54 • 0.03 A55+ Black Clover (repeat) (Adult Swim, 1:30 AM, 30 min.) • 0.242 million viewers • 0.194 million adults 18-49 • 0.15 A18-49 • 0.15 A25-54 • 0.02 A55+ Ballmastrz: 9009 (repeat) (Adult Swim, 2:00 AM, 15 min.) • 0.228 million viewers • 0.184 million adults 18-49 • 0.14 A18-49 • 0.14 A25-54 • 0.02 A55+ Ballmastrz: 9009 (repeat) (Adult Swim, 2:15 AM, 15 min.) • 0.235 million viewers • 0.193 million adults 18-49 • 0.15 A18-49 • 0.15 A25-54 • 0.01 A55+ Naruto: Shippuden (repeat) (Adult Swim, 2:30 AM, 30 min.) • 0.195 million viewers • 0.148 million adults 18-49 • 0.11 A18-49 • 0.11 A25-54 • 0.02 A55+ Samurai Jack (repeat) (Adult Swim, 3:00 AM, 30 min.) • 0.173 million viewers • 0.114 million adults 18-49 • 0.09 A18-49 • 0.09 A25-54 • 0.03 A55+
  4. It won't be. There pretty much has to be one for the second Dark Knight night! I wonder if they'll do the hyperdrive--oh right. They're stuck over a planet.
  5. I don't see any reason why they won't start a new show or a rerun on Labor Day weekend. They did that kind of thing all the time last year: AOT Season 3 Part 2 started Memorial Day weekend and both Gundam: The Origin AND Food Wars started on 4th of July weekend. Ironically, the holiday weekend that did the best was Labor Day weekend, and nothing new started on that day at all! I believe they will use the Bat-break to actually acquire something new for the midnight timeslot as a lead-in to JoJo, now that Dragon Ball Super has failed to cut it. And DBS will probably stay on the schedule but it may take a break on 8/29, then come back at 2 AM on 9/5. That way they wouldn't HAVE to pull out a new show, and they can keep Fire Force doing its thing to lead-in to Season 2. The only X-Factor is Black Clover, but at least 2 weeks of Batman should slow it down to the point that it can make it through part of September.
  6. Unless there is a massive outbreak in Texas that takes multiple VAs out of commission, I just don't see it happening. Funimation WILL have AT LEAST 4 more episodes dubbed by the end of October. Chances are, we'll be fine until at least the end of January so that Toonami can take a cour break after episode 12 or whatever. So, quit being so damn pessimistic, you goobersmoocher!
  7. Well, I guess that's why Dark Knight Returns got stuck at 1:30/1:45. But yeah, as awesome as this is, let's take a look at the lineup for 8/15 that would have been, that is now going to have to wait until 8/29: Dragon Ball Super Episode 82 "Goku Must Pay! The Warrior of Justice Top Barges In!" - it's the surprising finish to the Tournament of Power, as its champion gets a surprising challenger. Take it or leave it, since it's a rerun. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind "Green Tea and Sanctuary, Part 2" - REALLY!?! We're gonna cut JoJo off for 3 weeks in the middle of a cliffhanger!? Fire Force "We Are Family" - Yeah, OK, this is probably the one I'm gonna miss the least. Black Clover "The Devil Megicula" - Probably a good call that this one is gonna wait a while. I just hope the episode before doesn't have TOO much exposition on this new foe. Ballmastrz 9009 Episodes 19 & 20 - Would have been good for completion's sake to go ahead and air them, but what the hell. Naruto Shippuden "Crescent Moon Night" - Filler Hell episode. Could wait 3 weeks for all I care. Samurai Jack "XCVI" - Really, SJ is episodic enough that it can wait! Gemusetto Machu Picchu Episode 1B "Your Serve" - Is this show even going to be part of Toonami!? If so, it kinda sucks that its official Toonami run will be split by 3 weeks, but the Bat could easily kick Makasu's ass and y'all know it! So really, JoJo is the only show that's gonna suffer at all.
  8. That's why they can probably double up Fire Force reruns for a week or two...
  9. Yeah, like they're gonna pull the regular lineup for 2 weeks, put it back for one, and then run a damn marathon? That'd be a "no!"
  10. I have to admit I don't really care for the fact that it seems to be cutting off JoJo on a cliffhanger--seriously, the fact that this couldn't wait just ONE week is annoying!
  11. Maybe if this does well in the ratings, we'll get Batman Ninja somewhere down the line?
  12. While this is pretty cool, I do kinda wish they had done ONE movie a night for 4 weeks instead. Sure, that would have meant JoJo at 1:30 again if Toonami began at Midnight, but the real question is: why even start DC Movies at Midnight? This deserves an 11 PM or even primetime start! Other observations: this means regular lineup is likely again for 9/5 (Labor Day weekend) and Fire Force may be doubled-up at some point. Perhaps that October 24th date is somewhat fluid. Also, this will certainly slow Black Clover down, but DAMN, that's a lot of Batman!
  13. Well, that's not very reassuring... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-1-2020.html It's at least better than it usually did at 2 AM in key demographics, right?? "Adult Swim’s line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.08/194K & 0.07/195K and 0.18/335K compared to last week’s 0.07/211K & 0.11/249K and 0.27, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE at 0.17, MOB PSYCHO 100 down 0.07 to 0.16/270K, BLACK CLOVER down 0.07 to 0.15/242K, NARUTO down 0.04 to 0.11/195K, and SAMURAI JACK at 0.09/173K." Crap. We don't yet know Ballmastrz, but from what we do know, last week's lineup (7/25) was 9th overall for the year (5th from 12-3 AM), and was 5th for the year so far in 18-49 (4th from 12-3). However, this week (8/1), the number of total viewers in every timeslot was LOWER than the number of Adults 18-49 one week prior! Dead last for the year and only better than one other lineup last year (7/6/19, the block's all-time nadir).
  14. While we wait for this weekend's JoJo ratings to come in, let's take a look back 5 years at the time ShowBuzzDaily seems to have forgotten the series finale of Kill La Kill was a premiere: Will Golden Wind do #3 or better? We'll find out soon!!
  15. Huh? I don't think that's true at all. They'll probably have at least the first 8 through by then.
  16. The most it could possibly be is 10: October 24th and 31st November 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th December 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th And since I'd say Halloween, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and the day after Christmas will definitely be holiday marathons, that leaves 7 at the most.
  17. Oh yeah, you're right! I knew it was stuff like Assy McGee, but I forgot somehow T&E was there too!
  18. They're not doing dubs for them yet. Just as well. If Toonami ends up airing them, I'm thinking it would probably be next year in conjunction with the 5th season. But OVAs are sketchy at best. So far only Lupin OVAs have actually made it to air (two of Part 4 and one of Part 5). We never even got the FMA:B or AOT OVAs! We did, of course, get one OVA series (Hellsing Ultimate).
  19. That would certainly be interesting! It depends on how long the block would be, but at its current length we'd go back to Episode 12 if they can do that!
  20. 2008 was the last time they aired anime on weekdays--InuYasha at 5:30, until 2018, when Dragon Ball Super got a 3-month run in the 8 PM and later 8:30 PM slots on weeknights. And then again this year MHA aired at 5:30 AM for about 2 months. Of course, other non-anime action shows, such as Samurai Jack, have also gotten limited runs on weeknights, but most of those have either been at the front or the back of the lineup. Only recently was Samurai Jack's Season 5 featured at 1 AM on weeknights!
  21. Fire Force Season 2 will be continuing, and in fact with only 6-7 of its episodes airing in 2020, the bulk of its content will be in 2021. Perhaps that gets replaced by the returning Dr. Stone, which is coming either in Winter or Spring 2021. We've also got The Promised Neverland Season 2, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and yes, more Food Wars is also a potential. As is Mob Season 2--you've gotta think that's gonna show up SOMEtime. And also, won't there be MHA Season 5 as well? So based on just what we know, 2021 may not be as fat as 2018 or 2019, but it at least looks to be thicker than 2020. That IS, of course, if both our country and Japan can manage to shake the coronavirus. At least Mob Season 2 and Food Wars Season 3 would be unaffected by that! Getting back on the subject of Fire Force, FUNimation has produced this nifty little video that runs down the first 14 episodes, conveniently catching us up to Episode 15's rerun at 1 AM this Saturday night!
  22. Remember when we thought it would be a package deal with InuYasha: The Final Act? Turns out if it WAS some kind of package deal, it was just for more Bleach. Yeah, 2009 was pretty much all just about Bleach, the continuation of Code Geass R2, and the rest of Moribito. 2010 was even worse, with only FMA:B, Kekkaishi, and more Bleach making the lineup fresh. And 2011 only added Durarara!! to the mix. Compared with the dark ages of ASA, even incredibly tough 2020 is much better for Toonami.
  23. How about a 5-hour Ballmastrz: 9009 marathon!? There ARE things that would be worse than a Dragon Ball Super marathon!
  24. There's this one episode toward the end of the 2nd cour which has one of the characters saying "asshole" like 20 or 30 times. That's kinda amusing, and would probably do decent in the ratings. Come to think of it, an episode of Ballmastrz that aired last night did something similar! I guess us assholes will see!
