got another plumber coming in tomorrow morning. i had to sit down tonight and slap together some "blueprints" for them to get an idea of our plan. this is like, v.14 at this point, but i'm feeling pretty good about it. made the utility closet and walk-in cooler a bit larger than previous versions, mostly to simplify and reduce materials costs (that actually makes sense, you'll just have to trust me on this one). moving on...electrical has been difficult, but utility company added their drop last week and i'm supposed to get a meter and panel installed tomorrow. at that point, we'll finally have local power to operate tools and whatnot. then if the plumber isn't wicked high, we'll be getting started on that phase as early as 4/22. contractor is scheduled to fire back up around the same time, so hopefully i can put him to work building out the rest of the stage while plumbing/concrete is dropped in. then we should be able to start on bar/rr structures around 4/29. in the meantime, i had to have new air conditioning installed in the bar because the old one died the full death. it was only like 29 years old, so it had a good run. took the installers one day to remove the old air handler and outdoor unit, and replace with new. thought about going with dual stage, but we don't have the cash to toss at that while working on the hop garden. so we opted for a single stage 5-ton unit instead. there goes another $5000, ugh. anyways, a snapshot of the layout i put together for the plumber:

finally got around to finishing adventure time tonight. i fucking cried like a baby. -
we'll see how well dinner goes first...
-
there's some tilting going on here, methinks.

she's being taken out for surprise dinner tonight, and getting an afternoon away from the kids on saturday to fire a deadly weapon into the side of a hill. if that's not good enough, may as well shoot me now because it's not gonna get much better than that.
-
i'd like to think i'll just pass out after the weenus (lol) and then the rest won't matter.
-
that's good enough for a win. nice work, old chap.
-
long as she doesn't snip off the cock in my sleep.
-
i trust her to do it right. i just have to make sure to not push her so far over the edge that the rage is a blind one. none of that getting shot in the gut and bleeding out for 5 hours internally. nuh-uh.
-
that's why i'm getting her a 9mm. if she's gonna go crazy and try to murder me, a halfways decent first shot should do the trick. i don't want her coming at me with a kitchen knife and stabbing me 62 times to get the job done.

this is a good example of the difference between a toxic relationship and a healthy one.

i prefer the shotgun. i used to have a real nice ithaca deerslayer 12ga but it's been submitted to the halls of the deerhunter cathedral on the family farm. all i have left now is a little .22 rifle. well, that and a shiny new 9mm that i'll eventually be transferring to the wife. the rest of the lot is not registered and therefore non-existent.

is it delicious?

she's been stressing about the whole hop garden project lately, so i wanted to come up with a way for her to blow off a little steam. so yesterday i ordered her a little purse pistol. it's a ruger ec9s -- an inexpensive, basic pistol, and it's supposed to be ready to pick up on saturday. if i can get shit figured out, i'm gonna send her out with her brother to do some shooting this weekend while i stay home with the boys. she just got her firearm owner card a few months ago and has never owned a gun, but her dad has been a cop for years and she was staffed in an armory when she served in the reserves, so she's been around them plenty. we go out shooting with her family every now and again, but i've ever only had rifles and shotguns to take along. handguns are just more fun though. i'll probably be picking up something for myself this summer as well...looking at the ruger sr9 right now. something about that 17+1 that makes me go mmmmmmm.

No one wants a gf...everyone justs wants ta fuck
wacky1980 replied to fuggstop's topic in Free-For-All
thread title should include "me as" after "wants" and then you're probably right. well, strike that. change "everyone" to "these three white dudes in my dms" too. now we're on that good shit. -
DQ, Blizzards, & My Hot Date With Katt
wacky1980 replied to zombieninjakitten's topic in Foods & Drinks
love me the DQ but the nearest one is about an hour away. our town has a local fast food/ice cream shop that does "chillers" instead. they're good enough i suppose, but it's just not the same. now i'm sad. -
i used flcl canti for a good decade. been trying to go unnoticed since then. i think it's working...

so you misunderstood what i said, but you kinda filled my stated knowledge gap in the process. now i don't have to go looking for the statistics. and at the same time, you managed to reinforce my statement that a better metric for judging the success of the tax reform would be a look at the change for top earners, rather than middle-income earners. thanks for that. you can go home now.

i kill threads. it's one of my many talents.

my alt is cryptkicker5. i'm making meaningless threads so i have a df-ready alt in the event that may main gets banned again. getting close now.

i really don't know how. our personal income came up maybe 3% in 2018, and our returns (before adding in the corp) were maybe about 3% lower in '18 vs '17. we're talking just a couple hundred bucks difference in the size of the return, and if taking into account the corp taxes, our return would have gone up if it reported the same income in '18 that it did in '17. oh well, i guess the best metric on which to judge the tax reform is not whether middle-income earners saw a change, but if the top earners did. i don't have that info in front of me right now, but maybe i'll go look for it later.
-
so anyways, bump because i said i'd update. my tax return went down about $500 from last year, but not because of trump tax reform or a large change in personal income. it was because i had to set up a couple things at the bar on depreciation instead of expensing them like i thought i'd be doing. it increased our '18 reported profit by about $12k, and since we're an S-corp, i had to claim that additional profit on my personal return. had that not been the case, return would have been higher than last year by over $1k. i also disagreed with the accountant, that the construction expenses (for the hop garden) couldn't be set up for a shorter depreciation schedule than the standard 39 years. we'll never recover all of that. but she's the pro and i'm just some guy with no formal accounting education, so whatever.

plumber came in real high...like double my personal estimate...so we're getting a couple more quotes. accepted a bid for concrete this morning. it's also higher than my estimate, but only because he's doing considerably more work than i recognized as necessary. i'd like to toss maybe $15k at these two parts and be done with them, and that's still looking possible. then we should have +/-$12k left to build the bar and restroom. primary electrical should be going in this week, and hopefully hooked into grid next week. then it's off to the races. we're still on track for a june soft open. it's gonna be tight, but i think we can do it.

lol, very true. it's easier if you don't try to differentiate between the various pieces of feces that always manage to float up around these parts. then they all seem equally uninteresting.
