They are laggy if you want to play games, otherwise unnoticeable. I'd be more concerned about it over taxing your gpu that sounds like it may be ancient.

Cloudflare is what makes the forum load faster. It caches data so the server doesn't have to send you stuff that hasn't changed and get bogged down. Cloudflare GOOD. Not bad. Good.

We're on a 6 core / 12 thread with 8GB of RAM right now. RAM isn't the issue. It's processor power. You're on a VPS just like we are, and unless you're willing to pay for dedicated like I'm going to have to do, you'll have the same problems if you get the same level of active userbase. Load problems come from processing multiple sets of SQL queries at the same time.

Nope. Never been married, no kids. Very few people on the internet know anything about my life, and those that do know a select amount of details.

The primary reason the notifications end up in your spam folder is because they come from this server instead of a well known mailserver. Most of the time when random emails start coming from some server from nowhere, it's spam. That being said, if the majority of you hit "not spam" on the notifications that end up in your spam folder, within a couple weeks most of the major email clients will figure out our server is trustworthy.

Also the server going down had nothing to do with Viper, just coincidence. This particular issue was caused by MySQL being unable to allocate any additional RAM for database requests. Something running on the server has a memory leak or isn't killing off child processes so the available RAM shrinks over time until I reboot the whole thing. Gotta find out what that is.

I didn't get a dedicated server just for this place. I have a little under 20 different VPS servers from a couple hosting companies and it's getting to the point where their monthly bills would be the same as colocating my own bare metal. The only reason I didn't get it set up yet is the datacenter wanted a large deposit I wasn't prepared for.
