PokeNirvash Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Appare-Ranman! 4 (rewatch) The Qwaser of Stigmata 12 Spoiler Also "entrusted" with episode 14 of Kinky Kunoichi is, on the directorial side, Mitsutaka Noshitani. Last time I subject him to a direction analysis, I rewatched the baseball episode of Champloo, the episode of Dimension W where Mira's on the toilet, and the first episode of his directorial debut, a short-form hentai about a college student having sex with a crossdresser. This time, I chose to watch his contribution to one of the more underrated anime originals of last year. Truly, there's a fine line between sexism and misogyny - and let me tell you, it absolutely burns me that people use the latter phrase more often to describe things that are the least bit unfair to the female sex/gender - and this episode managed to identify it with pinpoint precision. The workmanlike presentation with neat little flourishes like Appare's image training was fun to revisit too, as was Kosame being a butt of the joke I really don't mind him being one for. The fact that Appare's technically the main character helps. Quote
