RollFizzlebeef
Notre Dame and Northern Illinois is currently tired 7-7 in the first quarter in South Bend. Riley Leonard looks pretty good for the Irish so far. He's been utilizing his legs and showing that he's good as new after last year's gruesome injury, which he suffered as the Duke QB against Notre Dame, coincidentally enough. As for the Huskies, that long touchdown pass looks to have gotten the rest of the team going. They just forced the Irish into a three-and-out. Seight
Honestly I didn't expect UNLV to end up being the "canary in the coal mine" school for how weird college football has gotten. "We are thinking about joining the PAC 12 but also our QB is leaving because somebody promised him NIL money and then didn't pay it, oh also we're 3-0 right now." The only thing weird is that people seem shocked that CFB is not the Shangri-La of amateur athletes they selectively remember. If the NCAA hadn't cracked down so harshly on USC 15 years ago, we probably wouldn't have had the brutal reckoning with paying athletes we are having now - it would have continued to be the open secret that it was. I'm just surprised it took this long for the actual mechanics of NIL to come to the fore - all I ever hear is that NIL money is out there without really knowing who's getting it and where it's coming from.
tsar4
Refs doing their best to screw Northern Illinois against NC State. So far, 2 completely bogus Personal Fouls & an NIU kick returner waved everyone away from the ball, picked it up and ran - only to have a ref say he gave a fair catch signal (wasn't even iffy). You know it's bad when the announcers are saying, "That didn't even come close to a _____."
