Jman Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Quote Superman finally gets answers to who he is and where he came from, while coming face-to-face with The General, leader of Task Force X. Meanwhile, Lois and Jimmy must find Superman before Dr. Ivo destroys Metropolis! 2
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Wait, THAT'S CLARK!? How the hell could he NOT remember!?
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Amanda Waller, you BUTTHOLE!!! You don't have an answer for a reasonable doubt!? Not being old enough is a HELL of an alibi!
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 And of COURSE Ivo's being too much of a dick for Mandy!
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Ironically, there is someone in our world who IS a weapon! Hint: he just got arrested tonight...
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 TENTACLE ATTACK!!!! But that won't stop Supes!
OwlChemist81 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Well, that was a neat twist! Super dark ending followed by a light flourish! Didn't see that coming!
rpgamer Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Mm, climax felt like a bit of a wet fart. "Everybody, turn off your lights!" And the entire city goes dark? Come the fuck on. There's still power running to the buildings. And if Supes could just punch a hole right through the suit, why didn't he just... do that to begin with? Start tearing it apart? Idk. Feeling a bit weird how it wants to establish that this is definitely an alternate-reality Earth but also wants some things to play out as usual.. Kinda more into it just to follow Waller's progression more than Superman. 1
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 I'm not a fan of marathons, but I'm pleasantly surprised we at least get Superman and Dr. Stone today. 1
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) Super-brats to the rescue haha. I didn't know you could even buy walkie-talkies anymore. Edited August 27, 2023 by ben0119 1 1
DangerMouse Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Heh, that shot looks straight out of "Arrival"
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Were those Kryptonian forces? Looks like something happened to stop the invasion. Was that Krypton exploding?
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Task Force X doesn't make mistakes. Uh sure, Amanda. 1

ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Ivo is just going to steal electricity. He should've thought of that a long time ago. And now keeping all these super-powered dudes prisoner has predictably backfired! Holy crap, Ivo will also be the size of an Eva if he keeps this up! 1
DangerMouse Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) He looks so much like an angry punk version of their Zarkon design in his armored form Edited August 27, 2023 by DangerMouse
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Wait so that was the same ship Clark was on? Never mind an Eva, Ivo has turned into a giant centipede kaiju! 1
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Now look at all the collateral damage your nonsense has caused, Amanda.
DangerMouse Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Damn he started shrinking right away when cut off heh
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 There's that glasses asshole that gave the crappy interview on Superman. Turning off the power is a great and simple idea. Get the electric company into action too. 1
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 So instead of disintegrating, the Ivo Kaiju got turned to stone. Awww Lois. There it is!
rpgamer Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Ok, if you slow down that segment and read the "livestream" comments, some good ones there. Most names are generic throw-away, but you can catch a LanaLang in there (even gives the classic "Sounds like a job for Superman" line). I also really enjoyed the "come to brasil" and "kekw" thrown in for streaming authenticity, lol. 2 1
Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Uh... okay. Just cuz you turn off the lights doesn't mean the power lines running through the buildings aren't still carrying power, but whatever. I was kind of hoping Supes would use a spirit bomb to beat him, but that's fine. 1
ben0119 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Great now Amanda is in charge. So they still want to kill Superman after he cleaned up THEIR mess? 1 1

Jman Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) This show is immensely frustrating. The version of Clark? One of the best ongoing versions of him since the DCAU. Everything with Clark/Superman they get right, that he is this guy with a lot of power but decides that he’s not God, he’s not Jesus, he’s your neighbor with the tools. “I’m here. How can I help?” So why is everything around Kansas’s favorite fictional son so obnoxious? Lois is not likable, the villains are lame, the art style is bland and boring, and for all the talk of this being an anime Superman, it’s anime through the lens of people who consider a lot of anime “problematic.” And the Kryptonians are suddenly dollar store Viltrumites? You’re ripping off the aliens who ripped off the Saiyans who themselves were Kryptonians! Also Kaiju Parasite was done better in Man of Tomorrow. At least we didn’t see the MAWS version of Lobo. Greener223224 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Man this show is just so rushed. I wish they'd learn a lesson from Sym-Bionic Titan and just not care if they don't get renewed. 1
