Episode 80: From You, 2000 Years Ago

In the paths, where Ymir resides, Zeke traps Eren and forces him to see the memories of his father. Eren, in response, plays his reverse Uno card and reveals that, through the Attack Titan's power, daddy can see glimpses of his son convincing him that violence is not the answer. Violence is the question and the answer is yes. Surely, with an episode title that calls back to the title for the very first episode in the series, nothing major is going to happen, right?

Right?

If this show didn't already jump the shark with the MEMORY WIPE and other nonsense, it certainly has now with the time travel.  I never thought the show would get to this point.

Yeah I saw this coming when they introduced the "wizard altered the memories of everyone" bullshit. It's a sign the author has run out of ideas and is just throwing shit to the wall to see if anything will stick.

He definitely didn't run out of ideas. He didn't even need to do it but wanted to.

This level of convoluted fuckery was not needed for this story that was originally grounded.

Yes, because giant monstrosities eating people while soldiers doing Spider-Man style wire-fu is considered grounded.

This author hates staying in the present and telling things in chronological order haha.

chronological order is boring. it kills the suspense. no mystey tells you everything that happened up front save the details for the most dramatic point for them to be revealed.

So the Titan power came from a random cave spring?

Why is she still helping the King when she could do whatever he wants?

So the Eldian history really is true.  That's... an unfortunate choice by the author.  But it still doesn't justify persecuting the current generations of Eldians for something they had nothing to do with.
