Africanized BEEEEEEEEEEEEZ

Looking back on it, it seems really racist that when American bees were cross bred with African bees to (accidentally) make killer bees, we say the American bees were "Africanized." Whose to say the African bees weren't turned more violent because of the American bee blood?

“Africanized” honeybees were accidentally let loose in Brazil. It’s a European honeybee cross to make a bee that produces more honey. They know where the aggression comes from because they know the behavior of each species prior to the cross.

I was wondering if it was American or European and took a stab....

I just don't get how cross breeding European and African species resulting in bees being far more aggressive than either of the species they were bred from is the responsibility of only one of those species? I'd get it if they were more aggressive than European bees and less or equally aggressive as the African bees, but they were far more aggressive than the African bees. It's the African bees' fault that African bees got far more aggressive when cross bred with European bees? What?

Yeah idk anymore I can’t find anything saying native African honeybees attack easier than their European counterparts. Maybe it is just racism and that would just be sad.  I was just reading how bee keeping in Africa is becoming a profitable thing and nowhere are the articles saying commercial African bee keeping is any more dangerous than the European kind

😬 yikes insect drones 😬

sad shit is that you just know that’s what humans will do. Instead of saving the bees we’ll create fake ones and then weaponize them

Of course.

Because why wouldn't the human race add more chaos to the world?
