Jman Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Yes it’s digital only. Can the Merc with a Mouth move manga fans to superhero adventures or is this destined for an early end like Spider Man Fake Red? 1 Quote
CaptainStarwind Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Do the Japanese have the same love of Deadpool as the US does? Not that it matters, I'm sure they would have made it anyway. Quote
Chapinator_X Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I’m having flashbacks of the X-men, Iron Man, and Wolverine anime shows. Quote

Because 1. Disk Wars is aimed at kids so he can't do any mature or sexual jokes 2. Japan doesn't have the same curse words as we do. Quote

His appearance in the kinda follow up Future Avengers runs with the same basic idea, that he really wants to be a big deal in Japan. (For what it’s worth, despite its goofy as hell premise, Disk Wars was actually considered pretty good, not as good as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but definitely better than Avengers Assemble). CountFrylock Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 fun fact did ya know the english dub for disk wars is actually considered lost media Quote
The1gairon Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 ... there was a fuckin dub of Disk Wars!?? Quote
CountFrylock Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 5 hours ago, elfie said: ... there was a fuckin dub of Disk Wars!?? yeah there was but here's the crazy part nobody can find any of the dubbed episodes online and this series never got a home release so it's likely we'll never see those dubbed episodes at all Quote
The1gairon Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 ... I mean it's Marvel, and anime, and aimed at kids, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised places like Disney tried to license and translate it for American audiences. Quote

I think it's more likely that people just didn't bother putting it online due to lack of demand. I can't imagine that a show like this aired on Disney XD at the height of Marvel popularity and someone didn't record it. Someone out there has this, it's just a matter of time before it finds it's way online. Quote

CountFrylock Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 what's weird is that it's not like this was a random dub with no name voice actors(Captain America is clearly Roger Craig Smith) Quote
CaptainStarwind Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Is this the Disk Wars dub? If so I found it in like 2 minutes. 1 Quote

Jman Posted March 15, 2021 Author Posted March 15, 2021 Update with good news - Despite not being legally available in the US yet, Deadpool Samurai is the most popular Marvel title of the year so far. The Merc with a Mouth is doing bidness under the auspices of Shuiesha. 1 Quote
