The number of episodes I used was completely arbitrary and not meant to be a thesis statement on "why I think Assassination Classroom is 12 episodes long". BTW there are countless shows that have a seemingly endless amount of material to explore that have managed to wrap things up in 12 episodes, so I would not be even remotely surprised if A.C. clocked in at the same. And lets not pretend that anime isn't notorious for unresolved plot threads and abandoned story lines. Edited September 21, 2020 by saito34 1

I feel there has to be some sort of change in direction at some point. But who knows. Koro-Sensei is quite an enigma himself. He is going above and beyond his teaching job, said that no students will die on his watch, and has given advice and motivational speeches to the students. But he is still determined to blow up the planet after a year, and threatened the students' families. So I'm not sure what his deal is. 1

Apparently there is some kind of twist involved, so you’re probably right in that it switches things up at some point. Reviews are actually pretty solid so maybe it’s not as generic as it might seem. 2
