This is one thing about the show I hate. It reiterates out loud to you what the hell you already know, right down to the biggest themes.

and why are we even watching? no one will have success until episode 12. There can't possibly be any tension until then

Hmm, not familiar with Martha Harms who plays Irina.  Makes me think of Megan Hollingshead (Bleach's Rangiku,) or Lydia Mackay (Black Clover's Vanessa.)

I took a wild, reasonable guess based on flimsy premise.

...

Buddy, look at how many students are in this class. Do you not think it will take time to know every one of them? Look at how Shonen it is. DO you NOT THINK they're going to get longer arcs?? Do you not think the story will focus on the entire class YEAR, since the class YEAR factors directly into the premise??

Grade: B-. I don't believe the dumb blonde moment Irina had with the shooting non-SAAUSO ammo was bad enough to send the score down that low, but whatever.

I thought this was a very fun episode involving some crazy innuendo!

I agree with the rating. Not the best episode, and the plot this week was a bit awkward to watch, but a fitting intro for Irina.

🙄 It was literally said in jest and in reference to another comment. The number of episodes I used was completely arbitrary and not meant to be a thesis statement on "why I think Assassination Classroom is 12 episodes long". BTW there are countless shows that have a seemingly endless amount of material to explore that have managed to wrap things up in 12 episodes, so I would not be even remotely surprised if A.C. clocked in at the same. And lets not pretend that anime isn't notorious for unresolved plot threads and abandoned story lines.

Yeah I would be surprised if the whole show consists of assassination attempts on the teacher for 47 episodes.  I feel there has to be some sort of change in direction at some point.  But who knows.

Koro-Sensei is quite an enigma himself.  He is going above and beyond his teaching job, said that no students will die on his watch, and has given advice and motivational speeches to the students.  But he is still determined to blow up the planet after a year, and threatened the students' families.  So I'm not sure what his deal is.

Apparently there is some kind of twist involved, so you’re probably right in that it switches things up at some point. Reviews are actually pretty solid so maybe it’s not as generic as it might seem.
