resurrected Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 That is awesome. I wish ours would do this. But they are all too wild. We have been going around in the late evening and putting peanut butter bread out for them. They are letting us get closer, but not close enough to touch. But they are right to be scared. I live in rural Georgia, and people eat them around here. I have never, and couldn't ever bring myself to eat one. 1

These ones are still very skittish and don't like being touched, but will climb over you with enough time and patience 1

We have a species of swallows that has been on our front porch for a couple of years now. They had a nest full of babies earlier this year, and they are still here too. They circle the front yard, in and out of the front porch, all day. And now, we have a new set of babies in the nest. These birds stay together for life. At least the parents do. They only mate with their partner. It's really cool.
Lasty Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) I got squirrels at the park to do that once. Just kept throwing my trail mix a little closer each time, until I put it on the bench next to me, then once they were comfortable with the bench, I just left it in my opened hand. I thought about training an army of attack squirrels, but decided to leave it at enjoying their cuteness up close. Edited July 16, 2020 by Lasty 2
