This show has been pretty consistently good in Season 3! A cut above most Pierrot fare!

chaotic animation quality aside this genuinely is a great show

Off topic guys, but Im curious - is anyone watching Tower of God?

It's a bit super shonen tropey, but the first 3 episodes kinda blew me away more so than Demon Slayer did by a significant margin.

I want to recommend cuz its that good. It might veer off into trash but damn im enthralled so far.

I'm sad now...according to jason demarco they're budget has practically been depleted due to covid-19 at this point so expect the block to be nothing but reruns soon....

I'm not sure how black clover reruns will do in this spot honestly

That is not what he said.

Also there are quite a few episodes to still last a while.

he said the budgets been cut significantly due to covid-19 losses....i doubt that translates to "Still Expect Many New Shows this year"

and as for black clover the show's on hiatus for an unknown amount of time so even with funimation's dub eventually they'll catch up and have no more to dub...which will lead to toonami running out of episodes

I feel like its been on crunchy for longer than that but it is new. Highly recommend Owl. The opening episodes kind of put most stuff to shame

(Maybe it was early April)

He did not say it was cut "significantly."  Stop exaggerating shit.

Yes but there will be episodes to last for a good while still.

where did he say "Still Expect New Shows" though? nowhere

he said the budget was cut and that a free show was better than one they had to pay for

if there was nothing to worry about then we wouldn't be starting off toonami with 3 reruns

Yes, but NOT until September, and by then it just might be back off hiatus again! We're probably going to get marathon breaks at least for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day. That means 118 by the end of May, 122 by the end of June, 125 by the end of July, and 130 by the end of August. After the Labor Day marathon, we would then have 2 more weeks in September until we get to 132, and the week after that we're finally out of Black Clovers.

But the show will likely not be in hiatus quite that long. That's 4-1/2 months.

Where in the hell are you getting the idea this is a budget issue? I think it's more along the lines of newly dubbed shows will be harder to get.

who said they had to get newly dubbed shows? there's a gigantic library of shows never aired on toonami with a fully finished dub that have been around for a couple years

it doesn't have to be brand spanking new....at this point i think that's the only option toonami can take   either go into someone's backlog to try and find something cheap or rely on reruns and marathons

as for the hiatus it depends on how japan handles covid-19 in the coming months....no country will magically get better over night

On the one hand, while sorta kinda set up, this does sorta feel like pulled out of nowhere.

On the other, this chaotic evil is incredibly satisfying.

Well we have known about devils since the beginning of the series when Asta got his grimoire.  And this explains why the elves are full of malice and go crazy, especially when that third eye spell is used.

The problem as they've already said is that older titles can be just as expensive as new ones to get sometimes.
That said, of course I'd love for them to take advantage of this and air some stuff I thought would have been Toonami shoe-ins back in the day (if Toonami wasn't gone at the time), like Darker Than Black (S1).

I wonder if they got lucky with Paranoia Agent because Funi also has incentive to have it on now since they just rescued it and are going to be releasing their blu-ray eventually.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's tricky because they already spent budget on buying stuff for the back half of the year, like they always need to do, by the time all of this went down, for the fall/start of the new TV season.

yeah so at this point maybe we should be prepared for the whole block being reruns by August or sooner with that in mind...

i hope that isn't the case but with a reduced budget due to covid-19(plus paying for stuff that probably won't air this year now)it's very possible this will be the worst year for toonami in quite sometime
