PokeNirvash Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 ...They'll be included with HBO Max, obviously. Quote

Top Gun Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I'm more amused at how Netflix counts "views" as "people who watched at least two minutes of a program." Wow. Two whole minutes! 3 1 Quote

If you want everything, you go to HBO MAX. So there’s overlap. 1 Quote

I'm still thinking the CR library will be very limited on HBO Max, possibly to just CR co-productions and other shows they have the master license for. But there might also be some catalog anime from other providers like Toei, TV Tokyo, Discotek, Nozomi, etc but far from the entire catalog. Meanwhile... Syfy just acquired the Harley Quinn animated series. That definitely would have done better on Adult Swim or even TBS but Syfy was willing to pay for it. Edited April 23, 2020 by Sketch 1 Quote

PokeNirvash Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 It's how we got Geass and Moribito instead of Gurren Lagann and Gundam 00. 1 1 Quote

PokeNirvash Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Yeah, if you call nine months later "immediately", but that's true, there was a turnaround there. Quote

Ironically, Code Geass: Akito The Exiled WOULD be a fine choice to get Toonami past a 2-show gap at the top these days! And at least we ended up getting Gurren Lagann and better Gundam shows in Iron-Blooded Orphans, Unicorn, and the Origin! 1 Quote

There was also the feeling ASA got Kekkaishi over Soul Eater, though we'll never really know. I liked that show too and was glad it aired, the story only got even better as it progressed in the manga. But yeah Toonami got Gurren and Soul Eater FAST lol. Quote

If you think Code Geass is even one of the worst mecha... take a gander at Cross Ange, Valrave the Liberator and Eureka 7’s sequel AO. The first two affectionately refereed to as Cross Anal and Valvrape. The later’s nickname is not without warrant. Oh and Gundam SEED Destiny is a shit stain. But that’s just mecha. There are much worse anime that exist. 1 1 Quote
PokeNirvash Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I have never seen either show referred to by either of those nicknames. I have heard "Vulvarape" for Valvrave, though. 3 Quote

Not a fan of the art style here. On MAL it has genres listed as harem and ecchi... blegh. Seriously that Zombie show has got to be one of the most annoying shows and worst shows to sit through. Is a guy dressing up in girl's clothes really such comedy brilliance to you? Are you British or something? And the girls were fucking annoying. The one gag I will give some credit to is the girl who never speaks and the guy keeps imagining her saying all this perverted stuff, with a different voice every episode. But mostly it is just a bad show. Quote
Daos Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 See you say you watched the show, but you don't recognize the "Is this a Zombie" girls cosplaying as Icarus Astrea and Nymph from heaven's lost property =P Quote
OwlChemist81 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Is gen:LOCK season 2 one of the HBO max launch shows? If so, I dare Toonami to marathon Season 1 on the Saturday before Memorial Day, only this time, do it uncut! Sure that would extend Toonami to 4.5 hours for one night only, as the first and last episodes would be 45 minutes long, so episodes 2-7 would air at 45 minutes and 15 minutes after the hour, but it WOULD be a great way to promote Season 2, especially if it contains sneak peeks! 1 Quote

I very much doubt gen:LOCK season 2 is a launch show. I gotta eat some crow on my predictions though, Adult Swim shows are getting pulled off the app after all. Several shows including Primal and Samurai Jack have left the Adult Swim app and Aqua Teen leaves later in May. I don't particularly like that because it indicates the notable shows will be pulled off the Adult Swim site/app after probably only a short while. We'll see how it goes. Quote
OwlChemist81 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) They don't have unlimited bandwidth, so it makes sense to me. Weird that Primal has already left, considering its last episode follows Toonami tonight. Samurai Jack also has 2 episodes left on Adult Swim until it gets pulled for the foreseeable future, so the fact that it has already left is strange. Or it could be just a mistake. There IS a 24/7 Samurai Jack streaming channel now, for example! Edited May 2, 2020 by OwlChemist81 Quote

Like when the Toonami stream had marathons of shows going and it wasn't just episodes that were available on-demand at the time. Anyhoo here's a twitter post detailing shows that have recently left the AS site/app and will be leaving eventually. Already gone: Home Movies, Metalocalypse, Primal, Robot Chicken, Samurai Jack Leaving May 26th: Aqua Teen Leaving August 31st: Joe Pera season 1, Lazor Wulf, Squidbillies https://twitter.com/CNschedules/status/1255927252686180352?s=20 Edited May 2, 2020 by Sketch Quote

ben0119 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Well that's fucked up. They're gonna take it all off the actual Adult Swim site and paywall it, eh? What a way to treat the people that are paying for cable to get the actual channel. 1 Quote

I guess the idea is to tease you into buying a CR subscription since VRV is likely going the way of the 8 track. Quote
