What's even the point of having the cashiers wear gloves if they don't change them between tasks?

Seriously there's hand sanitizer right there I'd feel much better if they had no gloves and just used a bit of hand sanitizer between each task/customer

Pretty sure the gloves are to protect them, not you....Get your change, then blast with your own sanitizer.

Because they need to try to do something to keep stupid customers from losing their shit.

At mine they wipe down the conveyor belt between each customer which does literally nothing for anybody.

At CVS they had plastic crates in front of the registers to create some space between the customers and cashiers but it's like...I'm still handing them the basket that who knows how many people touched, and the stuff in it that I touched. Also it was less than 6 feet so I doubt it does much

To be fair, the local grocer here does that and was doing it long before any of the current shitfan, and they say it's due to cross contamination of products.

They've never done it here before and they don't do it on the counter on the other side of the scanner where things sit waiting to be bagged so there's literally no point.

Oh I wasn't implying they did...I was just saying the ONE place here does it....I think it's their "niche" thing as a local spot that set them apart from the larger store which gives them the excuse to tack an extra dollar on my rice krispies.

my mother called a little while ago and mentioned she just got a part time job at the supermarket to help out

it probably wasn't a well thought out plan, given it's the same supermarket my youngest sister who still lives with her works at

they can carpool

I popped into Walgreens and the cashier was only wearing one glove which I thought was strange. He was using the gloved hand on the register but then he gave me my receipt and our hands touched so I really cant figure out what the one glove is protecting him from. Hes got me all over his hand now.

I ... think I would have left my tampons right there on the counter if that was the case.

that's ok, Jermaine would have done the same...except without the tampons. or maybe with? who the fuck knows what Jermaine Jackson has been up to in the last 25 years?

Appearances? To keep the management happy?

I dunno, my boss got on my case for going through too many gloves a long time ago. He told me to just spritz them w/ isopropyl every now and then and stop wasting company stock.
