meh.

I view going vegan as the most retarded thing a person can do. Even being a vegetarian would be considered better than vegan. Realistically I'd say being a pescatarian is probably the one that's best for you in comparison to eating meat, being a vegetarian, or being full on vegan.

But this person has been extremely supportive for me all semester. Honestly one of the nicest people on campus. A lot of rude people here.

Back when I was a teenager working at Pizza Hut I made my vegetarian friend a pizza with a layer of solid pepperonis hidden at the bottom.

Not as much as they think they do at all.

I don’t know, arent gallons of water saved because animals require lots of water over their life?

Water is a renewable resource when it's all said and done.. The main reasons a vegan can use to say their diet is better on the planet has nothing to do with water. More so greenhouse gasses, and deforestation.

I feel like I should probably add that even then there's a lot of massive corporations that have their hands on vegan food production as well as meat so the self righteous I'm doing my part to help the planet thing a lot of vegans push is and always has been very debatable. That's not to say that being reasonable, and moderate with your processed meat consumption is not the responsible thing to do though.

Still doesn’t change that it is a good person who doesn’t deserve this.

I'm looking at it more from a health perspective.

Humans are omnivores, plain and simple. Hell, farming wasn't even something humans started doing until around 10,000 years ago, that being like 1/20th of the duration we've existed on this planet.

That said, certain types of meat such as beef have been credited as causing medical issues earlier on than normal. And then there's pork and chicken which you have to be careful when cooking, otherwise you'll get sick. Some people experience better health after switching to vegetarian diets, but meat is still a cornerstone of the human diet. I guess if you take supplements or things of that sort even being a vegan can work out. The better thing would to also eat fish... the problem for me though is I wish I was able to eat fish, but the taste and texture is something I don't like. To be fair I came a long way from when I was younger where it'd make me wanna throw up, to now where I can eat it without gagging, but I don't like how it tastes.

That's a good way to look at things I guess. I mean.. Our early primate ancestors likely didn't eat a lot of meat and subsisted on a "chimpanzee" like diet just because they lacked the social structure and brain capacity to hunt as we do today though.. Saying that I don't want that to be confused with me saying being a modern day hunter or being able to trap and control animal food sources is something we should take pride in or show off either though for sure..
