While I can't deny nor confirm what scoob is saying, hot toddies are probably one of the earliest drinks I've ever known what was in it....Though I wouldn't drink one....

I would say the first drink I ever knew what was in it was gin, but I thought it was a glass of 7up on the counter. And the first time I even heard of a hot toddie a woman who is now actually 80 (or close to it) was talking about it.

I always knew there was whiskey in there, but I didn't think to have one and kind of stopped hearing about them.  Then, the whole acetaminophen attacking livers thing kind of brought it back as a cold remedy alternative.

I starve colds and flus. It was funny to see that a health story about fasting confirmed this to be beneficial, when your body isn't working on digestion it diverts that extra energy to body repair.

First hearing about fasting I was a skeptical as anyone else that grew up hearing about anorexia so it was weird to see a legitimate outlet talking about the benefits of intermittent fasting.

That's just a byproduct of the riveting conversation about archaic ways to get fucked up and cold relief.

Cant I just have my watered down whiskey in peace? 😂

But really, its just an excuse to drink a lot of whiskey without feeling like an alcoholic.
