they dislike it because of a prejudice against it due to it being an Asian invention, no seriously

it's been largely disproven that it has any immediate harmful effects on health, if you eat it constantly it has some long term ones.....but so does regular salt

Some doctor said he got indigestion in the 80s after eating Chinese food. Without any testing or focus groups, he deduced that MCG is in Chinese food, but not other foods, so it must be MSG that is giving him indigestion. He wrote a paper on it, and it's became an accepted fact. Especially the diet craze started and people were trying to find magical fat causing things in foods to avoid.

Yeah but he made it from scratch. It's like in cooking class when we'd have to make things like mayo from scratch. They don't want to test your ability to open a jar or can, they want you to be able to make it yourself.
