"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" is a short story about two parents who raised a damn snitch.

That song's kinda weird when u think about it. Like does the mom have a Santa fetish or something and has her husband dress up as Santa when they do it? Also when a kid hears it it's like, is mommy cheating on daddy with Santa?

The whole endeavor is problematic, honestly.

I've been thinking about that, too.  Like, the intended speaker of the story is a kid who sees his mom smooching his dad whilst he is dressed like Santa, but he doesn't recognize that it's his dad.  So either this kid is gonna wake up the next morning and say "hey dad I saw mom kiss Santa" and the dad's gonna have to be all "that's fine, I'm okay with infidelity as long as it's with Santa" which is gonna fuck the kid up or the kid just stews in it and doesn't tell dad and thinks that mom is a floozy, or alternatively the kid figures out that mom was kissing dad and dad was dressed as Santa and that means Santa isn't real.  So no matter what, the kid is going to lose their innocence here.

Actually I have vague memories of when I was little and my Mom saying "let's find another song" when that would start playing.

Why are there so many problematic Christmas songs?  I mean I'll admit I'm fully in the camp of "Leave Baby It's Cold Outside Alone" because the intention in the song doesn't mean what many people apply to it, but at the same time I can see how the modern interpretation came to be.  A lot of the old standards are based on standards we don't follow anymore.  We need more up-to-date Christmas songs, and not just "All I Want for Christmas is You."

Image result for tradition! gif  I know.  Odd of me to make reference to a Jewish play in relation to a Christian holiday but the chorus blasted throughout my head when I read your post.
