Again, Mom and I split the difference half way. Still, save up as much as you can.

Funnily enough, Mom wanted me to get Cooper tires. They didn't have enough in stock for a full-car replacement so I asked for Bridgestone tires instead. It ended up being more expensive than the Coopers, but those were the best ones they had that were still under a thousand bucks.

Even after that sweet Kmart raise?

Maybe you're treating the hooha a little too well. yG2spbL.gif

I've been having issues with my tires ever since I bought my car 2 years ago.

I have a 2007 Mazda 3, and it's been super reliable since I got it as far as performance goes, it hasn't broken down or needed any work on it in the time that I've had it. But for the longest time it was like I had a slow leak with my tires cause once every month or so I get the low tire pressure light on my dashboard, for the last 3 or so months it's gotten a lot worse. My back drivers side tire I started having to put air in every week or two, then one day I put air in it, but later that same day it was almost completely flat. I went to the automotive at my Walmart and they checked the tire and found a two inch cut on it. Had to buy a new tire, but not even a week or two later I got the light indicator again, the same tire being low on air. I took it in again and apparent the air valve on it was the problem so they replaced that. And then less than 2 weeks later I get low tire pressure indicator again, this time the back passenger tire was low, I took it in and they checked it out and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the tire, but the guy tells me the problem is the finish on the rim is flaking off so it can't seal properly, so I need to get that tire rim refinished somewhere. And then just last week I had low tire pressure light again, I thought it was that same tire again, but now it's my front driver's side one. If one of the tire rims is having issues with the finish flaking off, I'd imagine some of the others also are, and if not then it's just a matter of time. And I honestly don't want to pay to get them refinished since I could just end up wasting money if the guy just does a half assed job that doesn't solve the problem.

Honestly considering I've been having tire trouble for the last 2 years that I had this car, and more so these last few months I'm thinking about holding out til tax refund time next year and then buying all new tires and rims, so I'll finally be done with all of this

Yeah, I don't blame you. In my case, it worked out the way it did for a reason. And hey, I got to enjoy a decent pizza from Schlotzsky's.

Yeah, I'm glad everything worked out.  Like fuggs was saying, bet it feels safer now, that's a good feeling.

It really does. I almost told the guy, "let's worry about the nail in the flat" but thankfully decided to tell them to replace all of them. And the tires ride incredibly well, too. (I don't care about road noise as much as my mom, but the new tires also ride quieter as well. That is, when I actually have the radio turned off.)

I said it the way I wanted to say it and people still got what I meant by it. I am a word magician!

No, you haphazardly said something not caring about the degree of subjective interpretation that was possible; you assumed people knew what you meant because that’s easier than learning to spew anything other than half hearted, lazy approximations.

I care, honest. I’m not just an asshole...

Oh yikes! At least you noticed it before you left. I once blew a tire while I was driving on the freeway...not a fun time

I had a blowout on 35 once going to the airport.....35 has been under construction some people I know say for their entire lives.....Anyway, at one point the highway, that is 4 lanes and a toll lane for Dallas residents turned into a 1 lane box in....No where to get out of off for miles....So I had NO choice but to ride on the rim until it finally opened back up into 4 lanes, and since I was close to the airport exit, it was busy af. and the next 3 exits were closed, so I would have had to drive 4 miles to get to the next open one.

So here I am on this busy ass highway, with people who just got out of 1 lane gridlock now vying for position as fast as possible, and I'm out here trying to make sure I don't get ran over while trying to put a tire on.  Like have you ever tried changing a tire while scenes from Final Destination play in your mind.
