Zenigundam
Heard Buddy talking about it in a thread last night, and checked it out. Is there any lag or anything? Why's it only $29.99 for the basic package when my cable package costs a ton more?
André Toulon
It has it's pros and cons.....Never had any lag, but I have boss speed......Pros being you can stream whatever has already aired instantly or watch live just like cable, con being that just like cable, you get to pay for a lot of shit you'll never watch. Oh another con is episodes don't stay forever.......Like you can't go back and stream say old shows.....Like even though I can watch Adult Swim, I can only stream what's currently airing......Can't stream Frisky Dingo. Zenigundam
Maybe I should consider it. I'm an avid television viewer who's never even DVR once, which is pretty crazy. Probably end up saving $100-$150 every month haha.
André Toulon
Is that your money? If not, why care?
Zenigundam
Yeah I always get stuck paying the cable bill. The only thing is my mom watches TV too. I forgot about that, so I guess I can't really do it unless I bring my PS4 upstairs and alternate or something.

mochi
personally I don't think any streaming service is really worthwhile as a "replacement" to cable because I like too many shows on cable that you can't watch online legally, if anything I think they're more of a suppliment to cable
lupin_bebop
Yes. It is better. You get to choose what you have on your package for cheaper. You just have to have an Internet connection. The lag is minimal, from what I've seen, with a decent connection. It's cheaper because you're not getting gouged with a billion fees by cable companies. Zenigundam
Very informative replies so far. Except for you, lupin_bebop. Back up, man, you're far too aggressive right now. *steps to you*
1938_Packard
I pay zero for TV and still get about forty channels, including Fox. The best TV is free TV - no satellite, cable or streaming charges. Yes, it's legal.

Houdini Splicer
Nope. Fuck that video. In all honesty, I'm getting tired of seeing this shit. It's not funny anymore. I know the same thing could be said about Zeni's threads, but dammit all to hell and back. Enough. Fuck. Shit.
André Toulon
The object is to get all the work done and things paid for now so none of it has to be done later. You rent......Your logic is flawed......The entire premise is paying later, even if you pay on time.

Naraku4656
ok so the rick rolling is fucking stupid. real answer? ps vue is ok, it doesn't have as many channels though and it's about the same price as cable. the benefit of it is that cable usually requires a credit check. if you have less than stellar credit, it might be viable

André Toulon
What makes it stupid? My brother rents it from me, so it's like getting a house for free. We've been over this......And I'm not subscribed to the stupid part....I'm the non-believer. Go ahead, let's relive this amazing story....You first....Your version is tragic while mine is comedic. Let's tell everyone how a janitor that rents an apartment in a building one roach away from being condemned bought a house for his college professor brother. I don't think everyone else has heard the tale so I want them to hear it the same way I did.

The best TV is free TV - no satellite, cable or streaming charges. Yes, it's legal. I agree. Free tv is best especially when you barely watch anything like I do. I pay zero too and I think I get about the same amount of channels. Haven't counted them. Might have the same setup as you do. I'm happy as long as I can watch a couple shows on NBC, CBS, Fox, and ABC. Netflix is the best substitute for cable for me. I watch more on Netflix than I ever did with cable. 1938_Packard
Teaching in a college does not always mean pulling a $300k salary. Mortgage lenders don't look at occupations. They look at income, credit score, any other debt obligations and how well the borrower has handled other expenses such as lease obligations and utilities. Why's it only $29.99 for the basic package when my cable package costs a ton more? Just throwing this out there, but you can get a free trial to try it yourself. Said trial is only a week long but that should be plenty of time to figure it out and see what they offer. Every service has their pros and cons, though, and none of them offer everything. Well, nothing legal, anyways. Check out the PS Vue trial and see if they offer you anything.
