Why does it matter? What difference does it make?

What does the class of ship say about her status within the fleet, and how does that affect her character?
What scenarios does the variance in capability or layout allow for, and how does that fit in to your plot?

Essentially, what class of ship does the story itself call for?

In his universe there are different classes of ships with different capacity.

Capital flagships are the biggest.

Sounds like Kagome's mom is riding a destroyer.

I have  idea

Have Kagome have a pap smear in one room of the starship, then have fuggs tell her that the procedure is not covered by her insurance. Also make Spock be the gynecologist.
