Black Clover Page 49 Discussion

 

Last time on Black Clover, the team of Asta, Vanessa, and Finraal made what seemed like some substantial inroads against Vetto.  Even still at his trolliest, Vetto noticed that Asta's anti-magic actually cut through and stopped his self-healing magic.  Some more substantial blows like that and Vetto could be in trouble!  Vanessa and Finraal reflected on their lives and how much better things have become for them since joining the Black Bulls and meeting Asta.  It was somewhat surprising to learn that Finraal came from a noble family but was considered a failure because of weakness and lack of skill, either unable or choosing not to use offensive magic in the style of his brother and his family line, by simply voiding parts of objects or opponents into oblivion using spatial magic; Vanessa was in prison in the Forest of Witches?  Will Vetto finally be defeated with this team and combo attack using Vanessa's threads and Finraal's portals to make Asta's movements more unpredictable and untraceable, and Finraal deflecting and returning Vetto's attacks?

Lol, I just realized like a week or two ago that in that banner, and the color spread it's made from, that the real Gray is tucked away on the far right. :D

It's nice to see Charmy's actual self, and going badass, too.

Ok since Vetto said Asta cut through his self-healing before that should have really done something this time.

He took the attack in a non-vital area to steal his weapon?!

Now everyone really IS despairing.

Good that moment of doubt from everyone didn't last long.  Good job Asta bringing everyone back.

He may not have magic but he clearly has SOME kind of power.

The inspiration is Yuno?  Pretty sure Yuno couldn't kick this guy's ass.  I think you've already surpassed him Asta.

Never new that about the leaves of the clovers.  What about the fifth, narrator?

That was a smooth move.  You should've taken the sword out dumbass.

A devil... but was that metaphorical, or literal, and only Vetto could see it?  He did call those demon swords.  This has been hinted at since Asta got the grimoire and drew the first sword.

i'm probably the only one underwhelmed by that and i'm not exactly sure why.

 

i think it's the fact that, after all that push to the limit teamwork and whittling away the epic villain, the final blow seems to have been struck due to "special protagonist demon powers"
