tsar4
Don't worry, it gets better. Illinois is also floating around a "per mile" tax on driving. This, of course, is in addition to vehicle registration fees, gas taxes, and toll roads. Other states will undoubtedly keep an eye on it for revenue ideas. SwimModSponges
I too don't like taxes; i don't believe we as a nation need roads, schooling, military, farms, hospitals... And i certainly don't believe that the removal of taxes on individuals hoarding wealth in offshore accounts shifted the tax burden onto lower income individuals.

SwimModSponges
I blame the democrats for steadily paying down the national debt while covering essential government services. Obviously the only way to run a government is to make sure the wealthy continue to stay wealthy, thereby adding trillions to the national debt, all the while cutting services for the lazy poor.

Couldn't vote for Trump, wouldn't vote for Hillary. I think of it this way - if I had to give everything I had to this candidate for safekeeping, would I get it all back or just excuses? SwimModSponges
I think of it this way- who is likely to bankrupt the nation, remove civil rights, overly militarize, and make us a laughing stock on the world stage. Then I vote for the other guy.

That would be nice in an ideal world. http://freakonomics.com/podcast/americas-hidden-duopoly_radio/ The only way to bring that world about is to make some big changes. I believe you'll like that podcast and will agree with the message. It has some ideas on how we can get back to a government by the people, for the people. Fair warning, it would bring the country closer to the center but probably slightly further left, as all the mechanisms that the right have for maintaining power lie in subversion of democracy and this would likely fix that.
