mochi
Aka the guy who collabed with Toriyama to write DBsuper and design half of it's characters namely he's being accused by some fans of out-right plagiarism....due to them doing extensive research and discovering that his manga adaption of Super is largely an actual trace job of various panels and sometimes whole pages from the DBZ manga it could, in theory, also explain why the Super manga cut half of the series battles (Namely ALL of Vegeta's battles are cut in the Super manga) it's because he couldn't find action poses to trace he thought people would overlook Edited June 3, 2018 by mochi

Chapinator_X
Who would've ever thought that one of the laziest mangaka would hire one of the laziest artists to help him take care of the Super manga?
Blatch
The tracing of Marvel/DC material seemed more suspect to me than taking from DBZ. This is something someone slightly more famous would be at least reprimanded for, so I feel like the other shoe should drop on this guy any day now... even if it's been a couple of weeks. If you knew anything about a mangaka's workload, you wouldn't call any of them lazy. Well, maybe Togashi, who always seems to have "back problems" whenever a new Dragon Quest game comes out. Toriyama, however, probably hasn't had to concern himself with murderous workloads or painful deadlines since 1995 when the Dragon Ball manga wrapped up for good. At this point, he has the luxury of just doing passion projects, one-offs, and whatever concept art or character designs he's getting paid to work on. When you made Dragon Ball, you're pretty much set for life.
EmpressAngel
Genuine question, is it actually plagiarism when he's drawing over panels from the same thing he's being paid to work on? Like I could see the issue if he was tracing a picture of Toriko and then changing the hair and calling it Goku, that'd be one thing. But if he's got a panel of Vegeta looking pissed off, and it turns out that it came from a previously-drawn panel that was also Vegeta looking pissed off, that doesn't sound nearly as serious. BUU8800
From what I understand it's the other stuff that's received more scrutiny. The Captain America tracing or whichever superhero it was. Either way I personally don't give a fuck. And while I think calling Akira Toriyama lazy in any way is pretty damn insane, I will admit he has been known to take advantage of shortcuts. Hell part of the reason for the Super Saiyan transformation was so he didn't have to ink the hair in. But when men like Togashi exist just...come the fuck on already.

When you made Dragon Ball, you're pretty much set for life. Well I'd say Toriyama's earned his retirement. He did bust his ass making Dragon Ball. So calling him lazy kinda' doesn't make sense to me. We don't generally call retirees, or people that make a lot of money earlier in life and then manage it wisely so they don't have to work, lazy.
