Do i have that right? Yeah, that's right. But it's different from Toonami's other recent tragedy, AgK, because lots of secondary characters lived on in the better world their sacrifice gained. That didn't happen in AgK, as Akame was pretty much a wandering samurai who moved on to a new town. Couldn't agree with this review more. It wasn't a "happy" ending, like JoJo Part 2, but it was a sublime ending, like Samurai Jack. Definitely the best ending of 2018 so far, but then again the bar is set ridiculously low because it's the ONLY ending so far in 2018, other than Lupin the 3rd Part 4 and Outlaw Star's non-endings. That's a shame. most of the main cast died, a handful lived to tease at a 3rd Season  basically the two gay boys lived, Atra and Kudelia lived (and are apparently a lesbian couple now raising Mikazuki's son), the black mechanic guy and the white lady with the 1950's TV mom hairdo lived and had a baby, and Ride lived and is apparently a serial killer now 1

I think they did tell us they were doing well though in the epilogue even if we didn't see them on screen again. Remember that brief bit about how Tiewaz prospered by making a deal with Rustal, that was the Turbines. Also, this is kind of a flip on the traditional Gundam formula, where the secondary characters all die and the main characters make pseudo-poignant remarks about them in the epilogue. Â
