Movies:

* Ben Affleck should be banned from doing any movies related to comic books.

 

* Bourne series is the most generic garbage action series I've ever watched and every time I see a new one advertise I twitch with pain.

 

* John Wick is the best acting role ever taken by Keanu Reaves, also the Matrix sucked balls especially the ending.

 

* Leonardo Dicaprio is the best actor of his generation.

 

* Johnny Depp is annoying and his acting feels like a homeless dude walked in piss drunk and high onto a set and started randomly saying shit.

 

* Steven King's IT 2017 is better than the original.

 

* Michael Bay please stop murdering my childhood memories of Transformers and Ninja Turtles you fucking suck ass.

 

* JJ Abrams should be banned from scifi movies and reboots, he has not produced one good movie yet from either of those categories and the only good movies from the Star Trek reboot are the ones after he left as director.

 

* Fox needs to stop butchering the X-Men franchise and give back the rights to Marvel Disney already.

 

* Toby McGuire is a fucking terrible actor, totally unconvincing and insufferably smarmy. Also I hate his face it is like in uncanny valley territory for me for some reason.

TV:

* Madison from Fear The Walking Dead is a better leader and central protagonist than Rick from The Walking Dead and she adapted to the situation in like 1/4 of the time.

 

* WestWorld is the best series HBO has ever produced, even better than Game of Thrones.

 

* Every Cartoon Network Cartoon since Flapjack has completely sucked balls, and before that, every Cartoon Network Cartoon since Billy and Mandy was in the "ok" range.

 

* Invader Zim was actually good.

 

* I actually liked Episode 7 of Stranger Things season 2. Even though it was extra cheesy.

 

* There has not been a good sci-fi mystery tv series since Fringe. Also, Heros sucks, I have no idea why anyone likes that show.

 

 

 

Games:

-----------------------

* The Evil Within series is superior to Resident Evil (same director/creator)

 

* Final Fantasy XII is better than Final Fantasy X

 

* League of Legends, Ekko is cuter than Ezreal and Graves is more rugged than Garen

 

* Fallout 4 is better than Fallout 3 (though still nowhere near as good as New Vegas)

 

* Bioshock 2 sucked (Bioshock 1 and Infinite were both very good)

 

* VR is an expensive gimmick, I have not seen any game yet specifically made for VR which looks impressive.

 

* Loot Box games that you have to pay 60 dollars for upfront (while still selling loot boxes) should all die in a fire including Destiny, Assassin's Creed, and Shadow of War

 

* Civilization 6 has mechanics that are better than Civilization 5, however, the AI is not as polished

 

 

 

Rock Music:

* Dio > Ozzy

 

* Michale Graves > Danzig

 

* Queen and Alice and Chains are examples of bands that should have split or reformed under different names after their lead died, as they are too unique to be replaced

 

* Blue Cheer was the best psychadelic rock band of their era.

 

* Blue Oyster Cult > The Who > Led Zepplin

 

* Imagine Dragons is just ok, they are over rated and have like 2 actually good songs

 

* Johnny Cash  > Roy Orbison > Elvis

 

 

 

 

Metal Music:

* Big long time fan of most genres of metal, I can not say I have any controversial opinions on Metal though at least that I can think of.

 

* Maybe that Megadeth is better than Metallica but I don't think that is very controversial as alot of people I have talked to think that.

 

 

 

Pop Music:

* Lady Gaga is actually a good singer and has interesting music.

 

* Lorde is shitty and sounds like she's high on painkillers in all of her songs.

 

* There is no way Adelle has had that many tragic relationships, she's milking it at this point.

 

* Taylor Swift is awful, there is nothing redeeming about her music.

 

* All pop-punk bands are terrible and should die out completely.

 

 

 

Hip-Hop/Rap:

* Kanye West actually makes good music, but he's a shitty person and I hate his personality.

 

* Biggie > Tupac

 

 

 

Country:

------------------------

* There has not been an actually good major country artist in almost 20 years. Shania Twain perhaps, or Allison Krause if you are including blue grass.

 

 

 

Anime:

------------------------

* Fairy Tail, and Naruto are both terrible and the epitome of generic shounen anime

 

* Code Geass is good but overrated

 

* There are a total of three magic girl animes which are not complete garbage and actually are good:  Madoka Magica, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Little Witch Academia

 

 

Might add more later... I have lots of controversial things to opine upon.

Virtual Reality was supposed to explode since the 90s, and it never has. I don't think it ever will. It all just seems so pointless at this point.

 

* Dio > Ozzy

 

 

This is an interesting one... In Dio in Sabbath vs Ozzy in Sabbath, I would give them a tie. But it's not like equality, because I think the first three albums (Ozzy era of course) are better than all of the Dio era. But the first three of the Dio era are much better than the remaining 6 of the Ozzy era.

 

Dio solo vs Ozzy solo. Hm... A lot of the "classic" solo Dio I don't even like much. Except Holy Diver, which is a great album. But aside from Holy Diver, I think the band improved in the 90s and beyond (with the exception of Angry Machines). Ozzy on the other hand, started with two great ones, then had Bark at the Moon which was good.... No Rest For the Wicked is good. After that he pretty much goes to crap for me. Yes, that means I don't really like the No More Tears album, sue me.

 

And then of course, Dio has Rainbow on his resume, all three albums being fantastic.

Vincebus Eruptum is a really good album, but I don't really like anything else from them. And I probably like Iron Butterfly's In a Gadda Da Vida more than VIncebus Eruptum.

I only *like* BOC's two best albums, while I downright love LZ's two best albums. I never checked out The Who beyond the big hits, their radio hits never made me want to.

 

 

Metal Music:

Well Metallica is basically the most controversial band in the history of the genre. Here are some various Metallica topics that cause a lot of controversey, maybe you have some dissenting opinions:

 

----The black album is sellout garbage (personally I'm not fond of the album, but I don't really consider it sellout or garbage)

----Load and Reload are also sellout garbage (personally I liked these when they came out, and don't think they are sellouts)

----St. Anger is beyond laughable garbage (this one I actually agree with)

---Lulu is the biggest trainwreck Metallica has ever done and is among the worst albums of all time (I greatly disagree with this one. It's not great by any means, but about half the songs are decent. Not even remotely as bad as St. Anger).

---Hardwired is the best thing Metallica have done since And Justice For All (I agree with this one)

 

 

* All pop-punk bands are terrible and should die out completely.

 

I'm really only familiar with three poppunk bands:

 

Green Day, which I liked before I got into classic rock and metal. I don't really like them anymore, but I don't hate them either.

 

Blink 182, which I've always DESPISED.

 

Sum 41, which I always thought sucked but not as much as Blink 182.

I haven't seen The Wire yet and can't say which is HBO's best show, but goddamn I miss Carnivale and raged when it got cancelled.

I don't like Code Geass. Not saying it actually sucked or anything, I just never got into it.

I didn't include sailor moon cause it's a classic and a given also the progenitor of the genre. But yes sailor moon is also good.

 

I agree, even though I will admit Moon has aged very badly and the animation was mediocre at best, it was one of the first anime shows I ever watched and I have a very strong nostalgiac connection to it.

I agree that St. Anger was garbage and their worst alb for sure.

 

The Who has better stuff than what was aired on the radio. And most of it was harder and more bluesy feeling too. I still think Blue Oyster Cult is superior to both even though I really love Zeppelin.

It and Pokemon were the first animes I ever laid eyes on. And I actually had no idea they were foreign at that age, was around 8 years old when those were first aired regularly over here. DBZ came shortly after for me but I didn't get to watch most of it until toonami started airing since it was shown inconsistently.

And that's also the thing about Toonami. I probably would have never even known anime was a thing if it wasn't for them. They introduced me to a lot of classics like Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin and Tenchi Muyo.

Even HBO was mad they had to cancel it.

 

On one hand, I like The Wire. But on the other, I can't get through a whole season because it's so dry.

 

All that aside, the undeniable best HBO show is

Way better than Game of Thrones.

Being in the military does not make you automatically a hero.
