Bouvre
I've bought The Brothers' Karamazov and War With The Newts for several folks just to make them read them. What about you?

mthor
If I had the money, I'd hand out The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings. Not to make people warriors, but because they're both about the importance of focusing on everything you do and yet being aware of what's around you. I think that all new parents need a copy of these.

GuyBeardmane
Lucky Wander Boy by D.B. Weiss. I have bought three copies because the first two were given to friends to read and I didn't get them back before I moved from Tennessee, which was 14 years ago.
Codename: Jackass
The Trial - Franz Kafka Because I believe that we are living in a world of arbitrary codes and witless administrators who cannot or will not provide explanation, guidance or succor and serve only to grease the cogs of a faceless machine bent on the destruction of the common man, and, just like Joseph K., we are only victims to be used up and ruined.
