Ginguy
It's hot, but it is nice because everything is fried. It is expensive though, 5 bucks for a funnel cake. Fruit shake-ups are 4 bucks. The best place to eat is the 4-H barn, three bucks for a taco bag and another 2 bucks for a soda.

Ginguy
They shouldn't be, the food is usually terrible. 4-H isn't bad, but even it tends to be salty and kind of greasy.

Cille
I miss the fair. Someday I'll visit home in the summer instead of at Christmas and hopefully we can go see the cow show at my old stomping grounds.

I always return the animal to the kid who raised it, it is more of a charity event than the cow auctions are.

Probably because it doesn't make as much sense with dairy as it would with things that are raised specifically to be eaten. I wonder if the kids are like "well what am I supposed to do with this thing now?"
HardcoreHunter
I went to mine on the 4th. The only place that I can find amazing Apple Dumplings at. I really wish they did a fall fair as well so I could get Apple Dumplings then.

I wonder if the kids are like "well what am I supposed to do with this thing now?" Usually it's farmers buying or trading to each other for livestock. The amount of work you have to put into raising them makes it difficult not to get attached, so it's easier to eat a cow you didn't raise.
GunStarHero
I still remember the jingle for the Alabama fair. I wonder if the kids are like "well what am I supposed to do with this thing now?" Most of the time they are young kids who view the chicken as a pet more than something for a racist Kentucky Colonel to fry up. > It helps em out with the money and they feel good about successfully bringing their pet to market. I can make my own dumplings, but I just like eating them out of hand with a bit of salt or some really sharp cheddar cheese.

We don't have a jingle, honestly our fair kind of sucks out loud when it comes to marketing and promotion. If anything it is the sound of the demolition derby. >
