Personally I think Grigorian heard bells after that knee and was headed to his corner, any fighter knows if you're hurt to drop, not turn your back and walk away.  Anyway, this was hilarious.\

I've seen this happen several times and it's been a legal shot every time. The ref tells you in the rules meeting before the fight that only he/she or the bell can stop the fight. Even when a towel's been thrown the ref has to stop it (he can decide to let it continue).

If you feel you've had enough, take a knee or wave it off and let the ref recognize the bout's end...

Oh so have I.....I know it was a legal hit.  I just wanted to post this because it was hilarious to me........Then I remember there aren't a whole lot of fight fans here.

those guys that jumped Groenhart apparently broke his jaw...I thought they were corner men, but the article I read said they came out of the crowd...

I hope they get jail time

I'm a casual fan if that does anything for you. Used to be more invested when Megumi Fuji was fighting, though.

I'm somewhere between casual and fanboy......I was really into it back in the day but now have jobs and shit.....No more sitting around watching fights forever on my burned direct tv card

I got into it by proxy of my friends being big fans. Matter of fact, with the exception of the ones that died, all of those friends are still big into the scene. I drift in and out nowadays, but it's still around in a way. Planning on naming my dog Kimura, actually, when I get her later this year.

are those still a thing? i haven't lived in a house with a dish since college.

also a casual fan, like with golf or basketball. i know the rules and recognize some of the important players, but that's the extent of it.

Hell if I know.....We're talking like 2002ish after I got out of college and moved back home.  I'll never let one of the cable/dish companies rape me for a bunch of shit I don't even want.

I watch so little MMA that I can't even be called a casual fan, but I know that you NEVER turn your back on someone during a fight. That was a good hit, and Grigorian deserved it for being that stupid. I'm not surprised that his fans are idiots too.
