I like people who can make soup 1. Because homemade soup is the best and 2. Because for some reason the longer something takes to cook the greater the chance I'd screw it up, which doesn't seem to make logical sense but is ALWAYS the case with me! So I value people who can do it successfully and 3. All the people I know who make soup from scratch usually do it in large quantities and more often then not share it with non soup makers who appreciate their efforts.
