hope they pull naruto soon once it starts dipping worse than one piece in it's new time slot because otherwise that would be hypocrical of them to remove one piece for ratings and then ignore it when Naruto's ratings fail and spiral out of control

this still is a shock because it puts every other anime on high alert if they start dippping poorly in the ratings they could get axed forever like one piece this is the first time i can recall on the toonami reboot a show was shelved due to poor ratings...i don't even recall toonami canning that many shows in this manner to begin with so it just amazes me when this happens at a time when expectations for ratings are rather low i mean it's like The CW(where they air supernatural)it's not a huge major network like FOX NBC ABC Or CBS So expectations are rather low so it takes a lot to get canned when your running a late night anime block garbage ratings that get worse over time are guaranteed nobody's gonna stay up that long for anime and very few anime can convince people to shrug off sleep to watch it weekly at such a time

yeah back when they'd get crap like soul eater that was when things were cool but when the block got chopped down the selection of good shows and seeing as adultswim has big expectations for the ratings any show that starts to dip could be in danger as we saw in one piece's case for a late night anime block for anime fans it's sure not as exciting as it used to be

people have joked that one piece will probably outlive toonami and it's true others have stated that one piece doesn't need toonami as much as toonami needs one piece because ratings aside(and to be fair starting at the davy back fights and jerking around the time slot didn't help)it's too big of a series to just fade away and toonami really needs cornerstone iconic shows to draw people in You Have DBZ Naruto HXH And Jojo but aside from DBZ i don't think the others can keep a long discussion going there's just so much to talk about when one piece is concerned and so many good episodes so when you take that away...Your Just left with shows that will be replaced sooner rather than later(In The Case Of Jojo Or HXH)and do not have the toonami crew's full support to keep on going same goes with naruto you never saw them hyping up naruto or gushing about it in promo's but one piece did....so it's gonna be interesting to see how they treat the shows that they don't really care for as much as one piece

adult swim can put whatever poop plaster nonsense at late hours themselves with their originals and not get pissed when they bring in poopy ratings guess it helps most of their originals are cheap and what seems like a shoe-string budget... i do wonder what will happen when DBZ Kai ends it's run...not just any show can replace that and it would really show adult swim's obsession if that's where they put FLCL S2...(something nobody was really asking for)

Tried to get one but Dish Doesn't make it easy getting a hopper....they gotta do all this shit to make sure you qualify for one first every time we try to get one...that gets brought up and nobody ever shows up again despite us showing interest in being able to record our shows

Fads eventually end at some point...they don't last forever

kinda hard to grow attached to characters if they keep getting killed off after a few episodes and then we start anew with another Jojo

was naruto really doing that much better ratings wise? while one piece got promoted and some decent love from the toonami crew they didn't do so much for naruto.....wouldn't be surprised if they didn't give a crap about it so i can't really see that changing anytime soon especially with naruto taking one piece's spot

many thought one piece would be on toonami forever(or until it died)...funny how things turn out

i bet most people tuning in wondered what the fuck caused one piece to vanish?.... the send off they did made it seem like one piece's chances of returning are 0% it's like it's dead and one piece is basically dead in the mainstream now

Naruto is a terrible reward for staying up through the whole toonami block...(GITS You Can Take Or Leave as a rerun that's been on there before)

but really the more we think about this....even my mom agrees the fuck kind of ratings were they expecting at 1:30 AM?! few shows can come up with even decent ratings at that time so the more time goes on the more the ratings excuse seems a bit too weak...(Plus since a lot of people DVR their shows i think Nielsen Ratings are far too outdated in this new digital age)

Demarco seemed a little annoyed by this whole ordeal as him and several crew mates are One Piece fans this happened all because adult swim finally got sick of one piece's ratings and put their foot down no other explanation

just seems like the adult swim higher ups are assholes if they are just gonna storm in on the toonami crew and yell at them about this(which i bet is what happened)

how many people do ya think will stay up late to watch Naruto being the last toonami premiere as opposed to it being one piece?

though it's pretty damn hard to accurately display a manga's story arcs in just 2 episodes don't believe that would ever be possible with Ennies Lobby or Thriller Bark

i feel sad for the toonami crew having to drop this....it'll never be the same
