But not many listened to Stern, or may not have had access. Chicago had it's own "shock jocks".

https://newrepublic.com/post/190337/trump-second-term-democrats-respond Shove the Presidency Down Trump’s Throat Liberals spent the president-elect’s first term trying and failing to kick him out of office. This time out, they need to turn the White House into a prison.

Someone said something about Trump's second term - there'd be no first term without Letterman, etc.
-
No, this is Letterman giving him his start back in the 80's. Joking about "Hey, can you get me a NBC Peacock rug for the stage?" (I think he did the same with Lee Iacocca, asking for a GE logo rug). He's always said he didn't like the guy, but kept on giving him viewership for a total of 30 shows. Yes, the rest of the media got on the bandwagon and someone thought - "Hey, let's give this guy a show!", but without Letterman he wouldn't have had as much visibility and those things may not have happened.

Could say the same for David Letterman with Trump's first term. Even Letterman was stunned when he was told how often he had Trump on his show, giving him a national audience.

Elon Musk now owns Twitter, apparently trying to run it into the ground

All those poor Red Hats now won't be able to salivate on themselves while watching their guy take the office. They won't be allowed in the Capitol building. Hmmm, maybe they should just storm it and demand entry.

Considering who follows him, it's little comfort.
