  2. Yes, this -
  3. "Let's hear it for the shorteez!"
  4. Actually, no. I had two ladies at one of my jobs years ago try to tease me about having "Bedroom eyes", but I wasn't buying it.
  5. The "poor old sod".
  6. It was ok to check all the boxes, right?
  7. It was a running gag with W.C. He had a number of different versions of this one.
  8. Steve Landesberg was a hoot. His Dietrich on Barney Miller was one of the funniest things on TV at the time.
  9. Exactly what I wanted you to think...MINDTAKING!!!
  10. Beer Nuggets >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>breadsticks. (The story does not do these morsels of ambrosia justice)

  12. Tavern. Deep Dish is not an everyday thing - more a out-of-town friends stopped by to try it. Or you're drunk on your ass and want something to help soak up the alcohol.
  13. Haven't lived in Chicago for going on 20 years. D'Agostino's (in Wrigleyville) had great thin crust. Congress Pizza piled on the sausage, but their delivery was haphazard (took them 6 hours after they said it was on it's way). Connie's was ok, but the sauce was too bitter for my tastes. Father & Son's was decent. Bacino's made a mean deep dish, especially when you're walking around sh*tfaced. Leona's was hit or miss. Eduardo's wasn't everything it was supposed to be. Same with Uno, Giordano's & Lou Malnati's - a lot of hype. As I replied above, Papa Saverino's is our new go to. Forgot Pat's, I think on Sheffield. Good pizza, but their Turkey Tetrazzini was why I'd go there.
  14. Our go to chain (Nancy's) outlet suddenly closed. The crew was told the day they closed. After searching local places (including Giordano's) we've settled on Papa Saverio's. Very close to the stuff we'd get in the 60s & 70's.
  15. ...but it beats the alternative.
  16. The stuff is a weed. Unless you plant it in a sand dune, it's going to grow. We bought a couple of different types and now the neighbors have some too! Edit: the website I bought the original seeds from recommended gathering the seeds your plant(s) produce and scattering them out the car window as you drive past open fields.
  17. Only a baby photo & those of my cats.
