Ok this guy said it better
-
They probably said something like Earn Up To $1000 This Month As in they'll pay new donors $1000 if they donate twice a week for four weeks, something like that. It definitely wasn't $1000 for one or two donations.

They also had Fastlane... The only thing I watched on techtv was the occasional late night anime like Gungrave and Last Exile. And catching a lot of two second glimpses of Screen Savers while channel surfing, seems like that show was on all the time. -
G4 is coming back, along with X-Play & Attack of the Show

It seems kinda murky but they're acting like it's imminent from what I can tell, unless kids these days are using terms like "on air" and "tv" to describe being hired to do a twitch show or something. https://g4tv.com/ Like for real. It's really coming back. There's a website with a fancy purple shape design with stars in it and everything. You might be asking, "Why relaunch a TV network about video games now? We already have Twitch and YouTube!" Great question, we'll think about it. In the meantime, here's what we CAN tell you... G4 is a digital first network going live in 2021. Will it be on TV? Comcast pays the bills, so take a guess! The network will feature gaming and pop culture shows plus epic live special programming. And an alpaca every now and then. It will look awesome, but also kind of low budget at the same time. We're doubling down on reruns of COPS and Cheaters. Okay, that last one was a joke. The rest is true. https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/g4-talks-summer-relaunch-attack-of-the-show-x-play G4 dropped a little buzz bomb in the midst of last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, with a cryptic tease hinting that the groundbreaking network, which for legions of fans elevated gaming and geekdom to a higher plane of of pop culture status, would be returning to television after airing its last broadcast late in 2014. Now the newly-resurrected network is closing in on an actual launch date for later this year, and some of the key creatives who’re making it happen are beginning to talk about what to expect. If you’re a fan of old-school G4 mainstays like the gaming-focused X-Play or the live news/variety daily Attack of the Show!, there’s reason to celebrate: G4 has confirmed that both those series will be coming back under the network’s new programming lineup, and — just as before — they’ll serve up tech and gaming news with a generous side of funny. Thought this was more credible a second ago but just realized syfy.com isn't SyFy the cable channel, which I'm pretty sure still exists? But o well it has some quotes from a old G4 tv host guy so Wait... it IS SyFy...the home page of the site just really looks like that. -

It'll probably be on Sling I assume, they stay loaded with terrible channels and are always adding new ones as they crop up. From their twitter it sounds like they're still doing "prelaunch" stuff right now but when it's up I do kinda want to go to a bar or somewhere and ask them to put on G4 and just sit there for a couple hours feeling 2007 time travel vibes -

It really is a nice stimulating feeling, along with being a pleasant word to say, nostalgia.... I was just randomly trying to remember the name of the guy who hosted xplay at 1AM and after finally digging up "sessler" had to go to his wiki to see what he's been up to. Recruiting video game players with existing audiences makes sense, I wonder if we'll be getting Let's Plays on cable tv lol. -
Adam Sessler hosting X-Play Kevin Pereira hosting AOTS Me, still not into video games but down af to dive into this nostalgia pool. Anyone else watch these shows back in the day? AOTS (and its lead-in X-Play) was my go-to after school routine for awhile there back in high school. I didn't even care about most the stuff they talked about, just liked the hosts and their banter, basically a daytime talkshow/podcast. Still remember one episode with viewer call-ins for like an AMA or something that Kevin was doing and the caller introduces himself by saying "I'm a forum troll,"

If they took your blood and didn't put any fluids back into your body then you...donated blood. Don't take my word for it, this is what you yourself said happened...if they didn't return your blood minus plasma back into you, then you gave them your whole blood, not just the plasma. I hope this clears things up.
-
I've never donated blood before so I can't compare but yeah it feels weird during the returns. Didn't hurt but just weird and I got very cold at the very end when they returned the final bit+saline, weird sensations all around. All I'm seeing is stories about desperate broke people with HIV lying and donating their plasma for the money and it being caught by the donation facility. The only people at risk of getting HIV here would be the hospital patients receiving the plasma, if the facility hadn't tested it for HIV or however they found out it was bad in these stories. The article I just read had the facility quoted as saying sterile medical equipment is used and disposed of for each patient, so no I don't see how anyone else donating plasma is at risk from someone HIV positive donating before them.

I fell asleep after the QT match, just restarted and watching the rest now. Could be wrong but it looks like Mox pretty clearly recorded this promo on Suzuki before his match/Suzuki's debut tonight since he isn't bleeding from his arm. They couldn't just cut to him live here? Also I have no idea who any of these old japanese guys are. The Punk match was all good, from Darby's skateboard to Punk's hesitation on which exit tunnel to take. When it gets there he has to be the heel vs Bryan Didn't love the lucha bros match but it ended well so that was nice. Blood... Why did Kenny dye his hair black.
-
Anyway $100 for less than an hour of your time twice a week isn't a bad way to pick up several hundred extra $ You get a little scar on your arm but that's it, and it helps save lives or something, would recommend.
-
How does it seem risky? They throw away everyone's bloody tubes and such at the end right there in front of you. They also test everyone for HIV beforehand You mean bc of your blood going into the machine and mixing with someone's HIV that's lingering in there and being returned to you? I'm not going to pretend like I know how those machines work, but I'm going to semi-confidently assume my blood isn't sloshing around in there with other people's residual blood and that it isn't a risky way to contract HIV.
-
You donated blood.

If she's a biological woman who has sex with people who were born male who have recently had (or maybe it's have ever had, I don't remember) sex with other people who were born male, then it's an issue apparently. Those were some of the questions I had to answer anyway during the screening process.
-
It's really what they do lol. Blood comes out, plasma is remover, red blood cells and blood water goes back in. They take most people's plasma. As long as you don't have Hiv or hepatitis and haven't slept with a guy who sleeps with guys or used a needle for drugs within the last several months, you're good to go as long as your blood is healthy (they do a couple quick tests) and you pass a basic physical. It's easier to sterilize plasma than blood I guess which is why they don't pay for blood donations, bc if they paid for it like they do plasma then they'd be getting worse quality people donating worse quality blood I guess.
-
It's not pleasant but nothing that earns money is. I don't really mind it, just look at my phone the whole time. Not a good long term thing for your health probably to do this regularly, but a good way to stack a little bit extra for a moment. I mostly was annoyed I had to squeeze a foam sponge the whole time to keep the blood pumping, couldn't just like go to sleep
-
They reimburse you for your donated time...and plasma. Ok it is selling plasma but I mean like this is how they get it, so. It's like donating your blood juice. Your blood comes out of your vein dark red, is processed, like 32 oz looking-ish of the yellowish plasma separated, and then your blood is put back into you looking bright crimson bc it's mixed with saline solution that feels cold af. Then they give you $100 on a prepaid card

They're paying a lot right now. $100!
