As for the legitimacy of "Aozei" as a Japanese name, plenty of names in anime with kanji readings skew towards the unrealistic - most surnames in Japan were actually fabricated by the first ones to have them after the government allowed common citizens the right to surnames and not just the important people like nobility and the samurai class - so I don't see the issue with it. Maybe it could have a reading like "青世井" or something.

I do find it somewhat interesting that so many delicious brown anime girls as of late are getting cast by way of the "POC should voice POC" process, but as they say, if the voice fits, then you can't acquit. Really, I'm just glad that my prediction for Nagatoro's VA came true, even if I kept it to myself until literally just now. I was hoping Zach Aguilar would voice Senpai, but an Erik Kimerer is fine too.

Yeah, you don't even need to look at a cast list to tell that Jiruo's VA is a newbie. (Then again, flat reads are to be expected from a Sentai dub.) Riko's one line at the end definitely sounds a good several steps above that.

I don't like movies where humanity is at risk of death by asteroid Adam McKay should've made a sequel to The Other Guys instead.

Oh fuck, this was something I probably should've seen coming but didn't because I was too focused on sequels and fare from the past year. Should be fun rewatching this one and comparing-contrasting Turner's ratings with my own. (I anticipate a number of TV-MAVs.) Also, a damn fine excuse to finally get off my ass and watch that dang movie!

I read a theory on Twitter claiming that it wasn't so much deliberate lying as it was the episode prepper for FUNi just adding one out of instinct. Outside of rattling the part of me who likes things to be as factual as possible, it really isn't that big a deal if you think hard and deep enough about it.

And trying that got us an executive-mandated early announcement for Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins the Tuesday before Toonami's return. And with the lack of news now, after a whole evening's worth of block, the January 15th premiere may just wind up beating their record.

The effectiveness varies from person-to-person. What I mean by that is, any mention of the zombie apocalypse part of School-Live is spoilered on TV Tropes for the sole purpose of avoiding spoiling the obvious surprise for those who plan on going in blind. Same thing with Haruhi Suzumiya being God, even though everyone and their grandmother knows that she is.
