I recently took notice of a similarity between the main instrumental of The Animals' "House of the Rising Sun" and that of "Ajisai" by SHUUBI, the opening theme to Pachislo Kizoku Gin, an anime that's less popular, somehow more accessible, and yet just as obscure as AWOL.

The only soul-crushing thing about Chelsea's death is that she was the only Night Raid member to not be at some degree of peace while dying. I mean, just look at that face. That is not a peaceful face.

I can believe him asking repeatedly about it, because that's Demarco for ya. Fair thoughts about FLCL 2/Progressive: while I believe the first FLCL is perfect as is, I don't really see the harm in making a second or a third. That is, under the assumption that it's being used as a training ground for established and up-and-coming animators to go wild and develop their style like with Space Dandy or even the original FLCL, though we all know the latter was primarily a pick-me-up for the animators working on End of Evangelion. I'm going into it viewing it not as a strict sequel series like most everyone else is assuming it is, but as a FLCL for a new generation that's only using the FLCL name and universe as a way to avoid being seen as a complete rip-off. I'd imagine Production I.G was thinking that way when Demarco asked them about the sequel, while GAINAX just focused on Naota's story and just Naota's story, believing that's all FLCL was about.

Actually, here's how things went. Demarco asked GAINAX, one of FLCL's original producers, to make the sequel and they said no. After the rights reverted to Production I.G, the other producer, he asked them, and they said yes. GAINAX said no. Production I.G said yes. Two different entities. Do you get it now?

Yeah, but when it's an unasked for critical analysis, targeted at someone who doesn't take even constructive criticism well... it takes some time to accept it.

And now thoughts. DRAGONBALL SUPER - Uh, Beerus and Whis don't know that Bulma's method of time travel works on multiverse theory, do they? DRAGONBALL Z KAI - Gotenks was a mistake, even if he completely fails I feel Gohan will do a better job fighting Buu. BLACK CLOVER - It appears that now that the collective Yuno dicksucking has faded from the forefront, the biggest problem with this show is now the one-dimensional personalities of about half the Black Bulls. Luck and Charmy could benefit from some development beyond "fight junkie" and "loves eating", sure, but I agree with Angel, kill the siscon before it's too late. JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: STARDUST CRUSADERS - I'm not surprised that Suzie Q's accent disappeared, but what I want to know is if she's still being voiced by Stephanie Sheh. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS - I actually prefer Amida from back when she looked more like Michiko and her lipstick was pink instead of red. HUNTER x HUNTER - I don't know what surprised me more: Gon using scissors instead of rock on centipede dude, or Killua defeating OTN mask mosquito girl without even using Nen. NARUTO SHIPPUDEN - Naruto's cat transformation looking like a frog got a chuckle out of me. OUTLAW STAR - Hanmyo was a good kid, apart from the whole being part of the Anten Seven thing. What is it with them and their being complete assholes? At least Shimi was wise enough to change his tune after his run-in with Gene. SPACE DANDY - Once more, I have conflicting feelings about Scarlet. COWBOY BEBOP - Probably the biggest mystery of this show was who sent Faye the tape and Betamax player. For whatever reason, I spent the last several years since I last watched this episode thinking it was that 20th century technology nerd that shipped them the tape deck. GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX 2ND GIG - It's kind of sad that falling victim to the Individual Eleven virus is the closest Borma is ever gonna get to his own episode. The fact that Pazu and Saito get days in the limelight immediately after only makes it sting more.

What we can learn from the end in all this is that, like everything else about an anime, the execution of its ideas is subjective.

Magna did call Noelle "No-No" in one scene, so right now, that's as good a reference as any we're gonna get to that.

Trunks was a teenager when he defeated the Androids and Cell in his timeline. Naturally, it can be assumed that Babidi and Dabura went into action after they were killed, as trying to revive Buu while the Androids were wiping out whoever they could find would've been most inconvenient.

And I wouldn't have a problem with that.
