there is a big chance it may well be the converter.. n i did suggest to you how to fix it by yourself for the cost of some sealant and 1 hour of your time..assuming you have a socket set n a screwdriver/ foot long smallish steel bar ? --->"If you do not wish to spend the bucks ..You can simply unbolt it ..take it off..get a long screwdriver and knock/clean it out.. use some high temp silicone around each end of the flange to seal it to the rest of the exhaust again and then bolt it back on"
