  1. Anyone worried about Ashi losing her badass cred?
  2. Last time on Samurai Jack: After everyone was done membering the last four seasons worth of characters, Ashi convinced Jack that he had a reason to live, and has been a positive influence on the world. Now Jack has resolved to recover his magic sword, the only weapon capable of defeating Aku and the former assassin is coming along for the ride. Enjoy!
  3. A stand up comedian who was one of the head writers of Chappele's Show and had a recounting role in Breaking Bad. He's known for being pretty damn foul mouthed but pretty funny.
  4. Samurai Jack is getting critical praise and great ratings. However, there seems to be one thing that is dividing people on the show. The new character Ashi. I don't think people hate her, but they are curious what direction Genndy is taking her. Are her and Jack just enemies turned friends? Is this some father/daughter thing? Or are the two being set up romantically, dealing with her isolation and his consistent arc of loneliness? She seems to be the sole thing people don't agree on. So discuss away. What should they do with her and what do you think they are doing with her?
  5. Raw's big July PPV where Brock Lesnar returns is called Great Balls of Fire. Seriously.
  6. That would imply I was currently a Yale student.
  7. Fuck Toei. So it's basketball/hockey (Rangers baby!) to Jack, back to basketball.
  8. It's amazing how much worse Chuck seems to get with each episode.
  9. It's called "Oversensitive snowflake doesn't know who Sammy Davis Jr. is."
  10. Unicorn's major issue is that it is a direct sequel to UC Gundam. Expo Squad's is that it's a kiddie knockoff.
  11. Nah, I would just hope it was different enough from Logan. Because that movie was great. Also, if you're going to go that route, don't show her naked ass in the hot spring. It's sending weird mixed signals.
  12. As per usual, people are all "Ooh, it's problematic!" "Ooh, Ashi should be a lesbian!" "Ooh, father/daughter!" After this episode, any veneer of that is completely gone.
  13. ...You know how a show like Sekirei can have metric tons of fanservice but grounds itself with likable characters and the boobs feel more like a side dish than the only thing the show has to offer? Keijo...doesn't have anything but assess. Literally.
  14. Random thoughts - 1. The Scatman is still alive and is still pretty damn hilarious. 2. "Member these episodes of Jack?" "Ooh, I member!" 3. So she was naked the entire time? Do you realize how much porn is going to be drawn of her now? 4. Jack's whole arc this season is how useless he feels in the grand scheme of things. This is actually a good way to deal with it. 5. At this point Genndy has dropped all pretense of Jack and Ashi being anything but a romance. Considering how the few times he had romances it was Aku screwing with him, it feels logical.
  15. Well there was that one card where Adult Swim actively told people to watch Toonami stuff instead of Keijo to save anime.
  16. Last time on Samurai Jack: After being told everything in her life was a lie, Ashi saw the world for what it really was, Aku screwing with Jack on a near-global scale for the evilulz. Unfortunately for Jack, seeing innocent children die was one step too far, and a mysterious figure dragged him off to parts unknown. Pity if he had stayed about ten seconds longer he would have seen the kids were alright. Now Ashi, having gone from wanting Jack dead to seeing him as the only person to actually give her a straight answer, has gone looking for the samurai, unaware of what he has done. Also Aku is all depressed and the Scotsman is a Force Ghost. Enjoy!
  17. That's still good for Jack but the NBA clobbered everything. It's OK though, that's what reruns are for.
  18. Chuck's plan came to fruition and cemented his complete assholishness. Also Gus is back, but seems to lay low for now.
  19. The Scotsman died and is now a Force Ghost. Him and all the other ghosts need to get together for a big ol Ghost Party. As for Jack and Ashi, it does seem like it's less a master/student relationship and more two equals. I'll let your draw your own conclusions on where that's going. This episode felt like it was moving a lot of pieces around, and did so very quickly. I get why but hope the next episode has something of a narrower focus, primarily on the Ashi/Jack dynamic.
  20. Today...Aku tries to get his groove back.
  21. Why the hell do you have to do that?
  22. Part II of The Get Down. Good? Yes. Better than Stranger Things? Hell no.
