What song is stuck in your head right now?
SnapItCrackItPopIt replied to The_annoying_one's topic in General Discussion
I CAN'T EMBED THE FUCKING VIDEO. -
I joined in the summer of 2003, when it was originally the Prospero (sp?) forum software (I think the software is either defunct or was purchased by another software company). I was only 14 (I turned 15 that summer) and I had no damn business being up there, but I was newly minted weeaboo, so I couldn't resist. I can't even remember the username I had on there, but I became SesshomaruLover when the ASMB switched over to the Lithium forum software back in January 2004. By 2006, I had went on a hiatus (graduating high school, military enlistment, and so on) and didn't return until December 2010 as SnapItCrackItPopIt. Yeah, I have a long memory. I agree those were some good times. I had so much fun on the ASMB and got to know a lot of interesting people and some straight up weirdos.

Twitter (I refuse to call it X) just isn't the same anymore since Elon's takeover. A lot of my followers have either stopped tweeting or deactivated their accounts and tweets that would've gotten 100K+ likes are now receiving only 30K to 50K likes, which is not a good metric in the world of social media. This means more people have left Twitter behind. Even my tweets, which were never viral in the first place, aren't receiving much engagement like they used to. I used to receive between 30 to 50 likes, with the occasional 100+ likes, but nowadays, I don't even break 10 likes. As annoying as Twitter could be, it did change the world and was an icon during the 2010s, but Elon has effectively destroyed Twitter and I don't ever see it bouncing back to its glory days. Slightly off-topic, Reddit is in the process of self-destructing. First it started with the API and third-party apps drama and now there are rumors Reddit may start to paywall some subs. Really? Paywall some subs? It's enough paywall as it is online, but I guess since Reddit went public, their focus is on profit by any means necessary. Unchecked capitalism is really destroying the fun in life.

How is everyone doing? It's my first time logging in since 2021. I hate I missed the 20th anniversary of the ASMB, but life was chaotic for me last year as my mother developed stage four colon cancer, passed during the summer, I dealt with family drama, had to abruptly move, sorted shit out with my estranged father, and caught COVID after that one time I decided not to wear a mask (thankfully, I'm vaccinated). Twenty years prior to that, I was 14 going on 15, my mother was suffering from breast cancer, we were dealing with family drama, living in an old home with a faulty heating system and crappy plumbing (no pun intended), and me turning to the ASMB (and the internet in general) looking for friends to talk with about anime as I was insanely obsessed with InuYasha, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop, with a little bit of love for Lupin the III. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Oddly enough, I think I miss 2003 more than ever. As tough as it could be for a teenage me, it felt more peaceful and optimistic, but that's nostalgia, I suppose. It's 2024 and I'm not excited for the future. How are you guys doing? Anything new? Love y'all.

Netflix has Scarface and at the risk of being slaughtered by its cult following, I give the movie a 3 out 5 stars. I've seen the movie multiple times but hadn't seen it in several years and this time, I've noticed a lot of off-things about the movie. I feel like the plot was choppy and each act just shifted quickly from one scene to the next without a clear conclusion; in other words, there wasn't a smooth and streamlined transition throughout the movie. Yeah, I get it, it was all about Tony Montana rising to the top in the drug underworld of wild 1980s Miami but I feel the foundation of the story is kind of weak. I wish there had been more of a divulge into Tony's background before Miami and why he was so damn obsessed with his sister and psychotically overprotective of her. I suppose, however, the movie is all about the action and bloodshed for many people and Tony give many wannabe bad boys something to aspire to. With that said, Tony is bad for business. Too hot-headed, cocky, stubborn, and impulsive. Besides, I prefer Manny. 😍

Traditional Books Or eBooks?

I like both but since I've been on the go for the past several years, eBooks have been a lifesaver. -

I would be highly pissed if the eBooks I purchased were revoked from me. I'm sorry but even a refund couldn't make it up for me. Anyway, I'll never have this problem because I use Calibre. -
My nephew is obsessed with them and spicy foods in general. Typical gamer kid.
