  1. Tell that to the guy who traded his Mercedes to the same lawyer.
  2. Or about the same as a lawyer's time in some instances.
  3. To get the answer, find out how much the lawyer would have had to pay a contractor to do the same same job. Power washing doesn't come cheap, especially on stone faced buildings.
  4. Ask the lawyer. Janitor needed a lawyer and picked one that is rated "preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell. He had no money to pay the lawyer. The lawyer owns the whole building where his office is. The janitor gave the entire building a steam pressure wash. The lawyer gave the janitor start to finish work on the court case in exchange for the wash. That's pretty good leverage and an all around square deal for both sides.
  5. NJ Transit probably never updated the route schedule after the speed limit was raised from fifty five. I know they didn't change it for the Philly route from here.
  6. There are several patches of land for which I can pay cash. Now, with all the foreclosures going on, land with a house doesn't seem too far off.
  7. If I ever move again, it's going to be into a place I own so I'll never have to move again. I'm just doing what I gotta do to get there.
  8. Sat in a friend's car today and made it from Atlantic City to Mountainside, NJ in ninety minutes. How come the bus takes two hours and twenty minutes to reach New York from Atlantic City? Does the tunnel add the the extra hour?
  9. Not directly to the company. It's the driver's tip.
  10. That's why I go with sedan.
  11. Saw that about two weeks ago. Lady in a crowded room dropping the N word every ten seconds. Too drunk to take more than three steps without falling down.
  12. Van service from Atlantic City to Philadelphia: $180. Crowded, noisy. Takes almost three hours to reach Philadelphia because it runs a pick up route similar to a school bus. No smoking. Sedan service: $240. You can be the only passenger. The only noise is your own. Takes about an hour and ten minutes to reach Philadelphia with direct line route. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Heck... just pay the extra sixty bucks and be treated like you matter.
  13. It sounded like a quote you took from print media.
  14. Comcast... does anybody pay for cable anymore?
  15. Signed, Ye Olde Phart
  16. Greetings. I am the sultan of the Sultanate of Salty Sultans.
  17. I don't know about food, but a good cigar goes great with wine.
  18. I guess the Washington Post can't be trusted now.
  19. Seems similar to the car's shock absorbers. I see your point.
  20. $289 in advance.
  21. Right up until the Washington Post runs the same story. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/06/25/video-shows-a-teen-falling-off-a-six-flags-ride-and-a-crowd-gathering-to-catch-her/?utm_term=.09b7d9b17865
  22. Use a laser pen and challenge the cat to a game of spot the dot.
  23. I'd wager that it wasn't even the good stuff... just frozen concentrate. The health club here at the casino used to give away free glasses of non concentrated orange juice, but that was more than ten years ago. Now, you only get complimentary bottled water when you pay for the premium services. OJ is no longer on the menu. You have to pay the growers, pickers and packers. You have to pay the truckers. You have to pay the people who run the machines to squash it into juice, then pay more packers and truckers, then you have to pay the waiter, the busboy, the dishwasher and even the guy who cleans the restroom before you can have OJ served to you at a restaurant. Keep raising those wages by government mandate, folks.
  24. Fox Radio news reported that a teenage girl fell from an amusement ride and was caught in mid free fall by a crowd of people who held their arms out for her. She has no major injuries. I don't get the mechanics of that. How fast was she falling, how much did she weigh and how was even a group of people able to stop her fall without breaking their own arms? I can only guess it has something to do with very meticulous weight distribution. The crowd should get some sort of community hero award.
