My grandpa had a really pretty koi pond in the backyard. They were already there when they moved in, and so he would care for the fish. Very natural and very easy to maintain, but once they naturally died off other the years, they didn't replace them. Apparently he kept fish a long time ago, and had some big tanks.

Who has fish? I'm cycling my second tank. I have a 10 gallon with some tetras in it, and plan on my new 20gal being a community tank. I semi follow the walstad method, and keep it low tech. For awhile my 10gal was no tech, but that's so hard to maintain in a small tank I now have a filter, heater, and air pump. So far in my 20 I have ramshorn and Malaysian trumpet snails (got them when I transferred plants fromy 10g) and I put some seed shrimp in there. Plan on introducing shrimp, and then corys, and then maybe one big guy. Please don't depress me with current stories of a Betta or goldfish in a one gallon bowl with no tech, but when we were kids it's not your fault if you like won a goldfish at the fair and had no idea what to do or w/e

Haha lol ha well haha...at least it ain't mother's day right.? Tbf I never knew my biological father except for one phone call when I was like nine. But it is creepy he was like late 40s at earliest while my mother was 18 when I was conceived. Not gonna get into my step father or anyone else bc I barely talked about that in therapy yet, I'm not gonna unleash here.

I can't drive, but I moved away from PA to a state that doesn't do inspections and I'm still amazed at some of the shit I see on the road. Like I saw a car with the little for sale info written in the window that you could hear whining for half a mile and that looked legitimately like it had caught fire at some point. Also it's not uncommon to see cars that broke down in the middle of the road and are just abandoned for weeks til someone tows it away, which I never saw in PA

Winter is....not hard per se, but it's gonna stretch your wallet thin that first year without your farming income. It can be nice to focus on other things tho. My first playthrough I focused on building friendship with the villagers. This time I'm hooked on mining and getting it to where I should be able to finish the community center by Summer year 2 (gotta get some dumb fish, and plant some dumb parsnips and....several other things but I blame the fish most of all)

I'm having a pretty good time this playthrough, I got caught up trying to minmax last time I played and stressed my own self out. This time I'm chilling, playing drunk as hell and then posting about it.

There's a million things that have influenced me over the years but right now I'm thinking about Stardew valley. I've played it once before and never got past winter 1 (I'm at the end of fall on my current playthrough). The first time I played it I was like, "what am I doing wishing I could farm when I have pots", and I grew some cucumbers and herbs and other bs in my real life once I had pots enough. Now I'm playing the game again, and there's random things I can pick up follow up on irl + like mulberry jam which is an irl foraging hit. And there's so many things within the bounds of my favorite art and music that branch out so I was curious what strikes everyone as an irl curiosity or treat.
