So this must be his second second chance? I guess there really is more in the mind, than this body... what a feeling.

So I guess his brain was trying to give up and let him die rather than rise up to kill that apparent rapist, but he persevered above all else. I like this movie.

So... uh... The gag apparently got spoiled. Don't click that if you want to be surprised. -

This week's Dragon Ball Super is rated TV-14V. Check the manual backdoor for that. -

The average [as] prank is not lame. Also, why are you putting more effort (and the episode titles) into these now? -

Oh, okay. I personally preferred seeing him break over whatever nonsensical stuff involving the ghouls' conflict was going on. -

You didn't even explain what the first season's tangent was. Also, I wanted to ask... are we still going to make threads for the shows after Black Clover this week? The expectation is almost universal that they'll be preempted, but that isn't a guarantee. Maybe we could put them up just in case and then wait until next week if the shows don't air. -

Actually, I think even him started to sour on Tokyo Ghoul, and before the first season even ended no less. I personally liked how that one ended (Kaneki embraced his true potential for cruelty, and it was fucked-up amazing), but Root A went on to completely lose me. -

The idea of a break is more so Funi can get relief from the dubbing process, because doing it on the same day as the Japanese release is apparently pretty taxing. My Hero Academia had this done for it last year, but after getting halfway through the season they did have to take some weeks off. After that, the simuldub was released ahead of Funi's other shows, but not the same week as the sub. And now they're doing it again for MHA's third season along with Tokyo Ghoul;re. I thought I heard that the show Golden Kamuy was also getting a same-day simuldub, but I guess I either misread it or whoever said it was lying, because it's not listed that way on Funi's website. Therefore, they seem to be chasing more of these instantaneous dubs for more popular shows. At this point, it's not only possible but probable that they'll do it for Attack on Titan S3 in July... kudos to Al for calling that. But whether or not the same-day dub airs on Toonami is another matter. -

Probably not... ...unless Toonami is somehow crazy enough to air it on 4/7, which would be four days after the Japanese run begins. But Funi can't keep same-day simuldubs up for that long for most shows, so they would be forced to take a break at some point. -
Yeah, I saw that. I got it confused with Fist of the Blue Sky, which has been announced for Amazon Prime streaming... albeit not yet in America. On the plus side, Pony Canyon's U.S. division apparently posted trailers for both shows, but they may not actually license either of them. What is going on with that company?

The extra episode of Cowboy Bebop beat Gundam in the key demo. I bet Jman is disappointed. I agree that Shippuden should be airing at least a little higher, but outright swapping it with Black Clover is an overestimation of its popularity. We don't know if the only reason it's going up is due to how low it is. Maybe it's like InuYasha, where the show is more popular when it airs later on? -

So it's more of a vocal minority drowning stuff out. I understand. At least threads like this aren't as populated as back in the ASMB. But at some points, it does feel like a large crowd's in here. -

I'm talking more about the grand scheme of things. Toonami's future has already been secured despite seemingly poor ratings. I was hoping the scandal last year involving AoT S2's run allegedly being cut short as well as the "emergency replacement show" would cause us to ween off of the complaining, but I guess not. That turned out to be nothing, so even if the ratings are lower than that right now, it's not worthy of our focus. And like what's been said before, Jason probably would warn us if things got especially dire. Basically, your mindless fanboying of how Netflix is the best doesn't amount for much other than yelling into the void. I mean, I guess you could do it here, but that ignores what other people want to talk about, which is equally pointless. -

At this point, we're parroting the same shit over and over again. Black Clover sucks, Netflix rules, DeMarco needs to stop tweeting about how the Democrats are complicit in ethnic cleansing and start airing good shows again... and now I'm back at the point where I don't think we should have a ratings thread. -
We have about four and a half days left until the big reveal, so let's get all of our predictions down for posterity. Personally, I think it will be a premiere of Re:Zero at the top of the block, and then an FLCL marathon. It's especially advantageous considering that the first episode of the former is an hour long. They could air the unadulterated version the first time, and then split it into half-hour chunks for the next few weeks, so people wouldn't miss much as a result of sudden gag. It never occurred to me that they could preempt everything until 6:00 a.m. for a gag, but in that case, running FLCL S1 twice would be fill the schedule out nicely. Now, what's your opinion? Also, feel free to use this thread to discuss the actual gag when it happens.

What kind of thing can Toonami even do for Instagram? Take pretty pictures of the shows? -
Personally, I think Toonami could benefit from being a more well-rounded anime block. They're currently the only game in town for American TV, they have been for a while, and they'll probably be the only one left for as long as linear TV is a thing. I know they're not going to air stuff like straight slice-of-life or extreme fanservice shows, but it's good to open the horizons to action-adjacent shows of other genres, because what gets passed over is pretty much not going to air at all... anywhere. This is why I think Made in Abyss would be a great pick: It's got a little bit of everything, between action, horror, slow-burning drama, and even some lewd comedy by way of Reg's robot penis. On the other hand, I honestly don't think Pop Team Epic could work, at least outside of [adult swim] proper. It would seem incomprehensible to the mainstream audience and likely be ratings poison. It's probably got a better chance of airing than Ninja Slayer, though. Remember when people were pushing for that show?

You mean "Flip Flappers fame". Or Princess Principal, if you like your alliteration but don't want it to be overdone. Oh, and by the way... I do think it's time. The iDOLM@STER Episode 20: "Promise"
