  1. True, but Toonami not airing the Made in Abyss movie didn't seem to dent the ratings for S2 very much. Granted, I watched both, and I feel like the latter would've been fairly easy to follow otherwise. "Dovetails from canon" my ass.
  2. Sorta seems to be. Although... Regardless of what's going on, thank goodness for an actual acquisition.
  3. Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal S1E2 Smiling Friends S1E1 [i wanna play davebius] EDIT: Oh, wait a minute, I just noticed the separate thread we have for cartoons. I'll make sure to post there next time.
  4. Holy shit, Sweet Punishment on Toonami! I heard that one of the episodes of that show has a lot of topless women. Seems likely that this is an outcropping of it being a web OVA, which might complicate the rights further. I wonder if S&P would balk at that? It might fly for a normal 12-episode show, but this is only half the length so it might feel like more effort to them. Or maybe I'm just running my mouth off.
  5. The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls U149 73/74 Atsumare! Fushigi Kenkyu-bu 110-125 and 127/128 (yes, I skipped one, which was by accident) Touhou Suzunaan ~ Forbidden Scrollery 4 Witch Hat Atelier 12 [regular service will resume tomorrow]
  6. I could see that, but only if they have a really big show coming as the one they're "waiting for permission from Japan" to announce. Maybe Bleach?
  7. It's not about a particular day more than that I haven't had much time to watch anime yet. I did have a rough day at work last Wednesday, even if some of it was self-inflicted, but things have been going well overall. 🙂
  8. To Your Eternity S2E5 Man, I've got nothing.
  9. Sakura Trick 3-5 No idea what the reason is, but the Crunchyroll simulcast for U149 is delayed. The first episode was beaten to the punch by a fansub, and that never happens nowadays! Yet this might be a good thing, since I haven't been in the right headspace to watch the episode and then twiddle my fingers while I opt not to make the necessary ratings clips for it. BTW, as I mentioned in my edit in the ratings thread, I neglected to mention that I gave Bakuon!! the rarest of all PG-caliber ratings a long time ago. So here are the (SD) screenshots I made for it again, because I have much love and respect for you. [crazy little thing...]
  10. All right! I've been hoping for them to do this ever since they opened the investigation into Ticketmaster/LiveNation. Who knows if this is going to go anywhere, but I at least hope this leads to a hearing where Liz Warren grills Zaslav. That seems like something most of us would enjoy. It's more the fact that the title has another forced reference to writing off shows. But hey, it's better than bringing up The Owl House again.
  11. Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal S1E1 (rewatch) From my Blu-ray, which presumably counts. God, this show looks even better here than it does on [as]. The colors are brighter, the lines sharper (some of them exhibit an aliasing effect, though this might be native to the show), and the actual content is as gripping as ever. Kinda wish the surround mix was more exaggerated, but if you turn it up loud it probably sounds theatrical enough as is.
  12. I haven't watched the premiere yet, though I haven't decided if I want to. From the looks of it, [as] is pushing this show really hard, w/ a three-episode premiere, encores on Monday and Saturday, and they've already given it a second season as I mentioned elsewhere. The only thing I don't know is if they're airing promos for it non-stop on the network itself. I'm pretty sure I heard it mentioned on at least one NCAA tournament game, though disappointingly it was never aired as a sneak preview after one of the Turner networks' slate of games. All this is enough to make me wonder if they seriously think this show can be their next Rick and Morty; if so, then they should probably come out and say it, because there's no shame in it. Even if R&M is still on the air.
  13. Okay, you got a laugh out of me this time. Not many running gags have this trajectory.
  14. Prior to the recent schedule drop, I was expecting either a Royal Crackers world premiere super-spectacular, or Post's Game v2 featuring a different musical artist... maybe Goose? Now I'm expecting it to be the latter, with or without melts. More than anything, I'm happy that they're seemingly actually going to do something this year, as I thought there was a non-insignificant chance [as] would forsake doing gags due to their new corporate parent. Not to mention, who (outside of Japan) celebrates April Fool's anymore? As for Toonami, I'm not expecting anything on that front, but I do think there's enough in development for the block that they could throw together a night of stealth premieres/pilots. Come oooooon first episode of Uzumaki!
  15. Here's an interview that explains things: So now we have context as to why Unicorn: Warriors Eternal and My Adventures with Superman are making the jump to [as]. Should be really interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully, with [adult swim jr.] now having came to fruition, kind of, they decide to take on young adult-skewing projects that CN would've either passed on or screwed over in the past.
  16. Well cool. I was A-OK with Primal sloppy seconds, so I'll watch the Toonami airing of this. Seems like [as] is largely doing this because they're desperate for any sort of content. We still don't know anything about the immediate future other than Royal Crackers, which, funnily enough, just got renewed. Network brass finally did it!
  17. I wasn't trying to imply you were being critical of it. Maybe I should've worded it differently. Onimai: I'm You're Sister Now! 2 [i'm still upside-down]
  18. Hmm, seems kinda weaksauce. The Primal rerun, I mean. Can't they at least go back to Season 1? At this point, I wouldn't expect them to have anything itneresting to cover for the next S2 loop anyway.
  19. The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls 20 takt op.Destiny 10/11 Touhou Fantasy Kaleidoscope ~The Memories of Phantasm~ 1 The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Episode 20: "Which way should I go to get to the castle?"
  20. They're playing Irish music at the grocery store I work at today. Pretty cool, even if it's mostly fiddle-based songs that tend to blend together. Oh, and U2, of course. So I suppose I'll send a kiss to @PokeNirvash, the reasons for which should be obvious. May your cup of content ratings be filled, as will mine. [congratulations, you coaxed me out of my anime-and-toonami-general hole. also, hbd toonami!]
  21. Woah, this thread briefly went Type II. I wanted to contribute earlier, but I have nothing to offer about the whole G4 mess. It's too bad Bakuon!! isn't dubbed and probably never will at this point, because if it was, you know I'd be going hard in the paint for it. It's got action, though not what most Toonami fans would expect, though the presence of moe and fanservice probably makes it radioactive relative to DeMarco. I've made my peace about Log Horizon never airing on Toonami, but you have a bit of a point. I wouldn't call it dull, but cerebral, and shows like that aren't for everyone. I'm expecting to finally get around to my rewatch of it at some point and find out it hasn't held up, assuming it ever did. So what is there that I would like to see Toonami get from Sentai that has a realistic chance? All I can think of is Season 1 of The Big O. Maybe cut a deal with them to finally get an HD version of Season 2 out there on top of that.
  22. I'm one of those people who torrents a lot of stuff, but it's not really about piracy. Granted, I did just download a big e-hentai archive of a Touhou artist where you have to pay to get certain images, so I'll have to shoot them a donation at some point. [r.i.p. yeeshkul!]
  23. Ohhh, I forgot about that! Good call. I mean, the fact that the dub was delayed may have played a role in me thinking Toonami was more likely to get it, since they'd premiere it. I haven't watched many isekai, and most of them are normie picks regardless of if I only saw one episode in my community college's anime club. The only one I can think of that would be fit to air on Toonami is HameFura... which would be more likely if they were still committed to airing more diverse shows. Too bad, because I've always thought Knight's and Magic, the one under-the-radar isekai I watched, would be a cool pick for the block. But Funimation snapped it up and now Crunchyroll has it, so what're you gonna do? [sadly, it doesn't seem to exist anymore]
