I was the assistant manager in a service industry job for like 3 years.....It sucked because the manager was "the cool guy" and I was expected to delegate authority so people would go over my head to the cool guy, get what they want then he'd hit me with the "cut this shit off" as soon as he allowed it. Probably a huge factor in my cynicism.
