  1. Status update: The outside of a ketchup packet tastes as bad as it sounds. Don't eat plastic, kids. Aside from that, if I had known that Dr. Stone would be a double premiere on the 16th, I would have extended that show's marathon on the 23rd. But that's not what I expect. What I DO expect is for Flicker of Doom to only get that singular airing and just pray enough people realized we get two episodes that night.
  2. I don't know about you, but I think it's kinda poetic how November started with double Demon Slayer, we now have double Dr. Stone and marathons of both ending 2023, and we're kicking off 2024 with the finale of Attack on Titan. But that's a different topic.
  3. I figured it was going to either be 12:30 or 1:00 that gets the Lycoris Recoil slot. Although, looking closer into this block, I think pairing it with both Dr. Stone and One Piece does show some faith in the pickup. At least it could get a couple of viewers compared to IGPX.
  4. So, with the recent news on January 6th, I've cracked the code for the next year. January 2024: Attack on Titan finally ends, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc and Lycoris Recoil premiere. March/April 2024: Scavengers Reign makes its Toonami debut. May 2024: IGPX ends its remastered run. June 2024: My Adventures with Superman airs its second season. July/August 2024: Naruto Shippuden finally ends. October 2024: Uzumaki finally premieres. Fall 2024: One Piece becomes the new show to close the night off. 2025: Who knows? I also think Ninja Kamui, Rick and Morty: The Anime, Lupin Zero, and the Urusei Yatsura reboot could make it on the block next year. Clearly a mixed bag around here, but that's subject to change. Any thoughts on this matter?
  5. I felt like there wasn't much action around here, so I might as well do this. Feel free to share any fantasy schedules you may have at any point in Toonami history. For example: June 1997: 4:00 PM: ThunderCats 4:30 PM: Super Friends 5:00 PM: Cartoon Roulette 5:15 PM: Voltron 5:45 PM: Cartoon Roulette 6:00 PM: Sailor Moon 6:30 PM: The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest September 2005: 7:00 PM: Duel Masters 7:30 PM: Transformers: Cybertron 8:00 PM: Justice League Unlimited 8:30 PM: Teen Titans 9:00 PM: Zatch Bell! 9:30 PM: Naruto 10:00 PM: One Piece 10:30 PM: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo April 1st, 2023: 12 - 3 AM: Attack on Titan: Junior High Marathon
  6. Compared to some of the other Thanksgiving balloons, he oughta change his name to Monkey D. Lucky.
  7. As we're heading into another year of Toonami, I want to ask a question for the usual suspects. What introduced you to Toonami? Be it TOM 1, the AS revival, Moltar, or even something different. For me, I'll admit I was too young for the block. I was a 2000's baby, in fact. But that doesn't stop me from loving it like the rest of you.
  8. I don't expect more immediately, but I made this post as a thinking corner to see what people on this site want to be turned into a parade balloon. For example, I think a Chopper balloon would be made funnier if it was the last balloon of the parade, being based on a talking reindeer and all.
  9. As we bask into the afterglow of Luffy's parade debut, I thought I'd ask you guys what comes next. Would another Dragon Ball character join Goku? What about a second One Piece balloon to promote Netflix's next season? Could Naruto or Deku be next, and become the Mount Rushmore of anime heroes? There's a lot of options, but it would be funny if Chopper's debut happened before Santa's arrival. Just looking at him explains why.
  10. They're absolutely right that Luffy would love Thanksgiving. Which is why I can't say the same for his shipmates...
  11. As I said some place else, January is going to be STACKED!
  12. Holy shit. I wouldn't have expected THIS to happen! An Aniplex dub that's not a shonen? Beautiful news. Fingers crossed for the UY remake in the Fall, because this makes me think it can happen.
  13. I've been keeping tabs on Toonami schedules, and based on my number crunching, they can technically air the AOT finale on December 23rd, two days before Christmas, assuming they don't get the Entertainment District Arc. That way, they'd have a slot open at Midnight to end the year with a boom. If it's proven to be otherwise, I'll eat a ketchup packet whole.
  14. I'm actually not mad at the way they called him. In my eyes, it's actually pretty close to how it's usually pronounced.
  15. I heard Splatoon 3 is good, and AC: New Horizons came out at just the right time.
  16. Based solely on the Wikipedia page, that's a fifth of the entire NA library. I'm surprised too.
  17. I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Emphasis on cautious. Maybe it'll be good. Maybe it'll be bad. Maybe it'll be in between. Who knows? All I know is, from the information we currently have, I can't see this being much good.
  18. Whatever replaces Naruto Shippuden, I just hope it's good. I mean, it would be monumentous seeing what now amounts to a Toonami mainstay end its run for once. My guess? The block loses 2:30 permanently, as sad as that sounds.
  19. Speaking of Thanksgiving, I saw on Swimpedia that they're airing the third IGPX episode remastered. Something tells me they've started work on that show by now.
  20. Hi, guys! I'm new here, so bear that in mind. How's everyone doing?

  21. Hi! This is my first post here, so please understand I'm new to this site. Now, let's get to the meat and potatoes... Earlier this year, I've realized something about the Urusei Yatsura reboot: It belongs on Toonami's schedule. Think about the list of Toonami programs from the past 13 months and tell me there wouldn't be a pattern: Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon was the previous time a Rumiko Takahashi series was revisisted. It aired on Toonami. Lupin the Third Part 6 was the latest installment in a vintage anime franchise, one that dwells more on comedy and hijinks than shonen or drama. It aired on Toonami. Made in Abyss was dubbed by Sentai Filmworks and can be seen on HiDive, not Crunchyroll. It aired on Toonami. The original Naruto series, the one from the 2000s, was animated by Studio Pierrot. It, Boruto, and Shippuden have all aired on Toonami at some point. One Piece has an oni named Yamato in Luffy's ally circle. While Yamato herself has a way to go before her introduction can be localized, the show is still ongoing on the block. My Hero Academia's protagonist, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya, has an absentee father who breathes fire and travels the world. Lum's cousin Ten can breathe fire whenever he wants AND travels the galaxy on a whim. (I'm not saying Deku or Inko are secretly part oni, but...) Genndy Tartakovsky has his hands on Primal and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. The original Urusei Yatsura may have inspired the creators of the 2003 Teen Titans animated series. One of the highlights to FLCL is their reference to South Park, of all things. Wendy Darling made a cameo in the Urusei Yatsura reboot, using the design the original UY gave her. Food Wars revolves around ludicrously grand chef skills. Ironically, Lum and the other Oni don't taste human food unless it's too spicy for human consumption. Just ask Ataru. Not only did My Adventures with Superman become a hit, but Injustice aired on Toonami a few months prior. You can draw a connection between Lum and Wonder Woman. Demon Slayer has Tanjiro protect his sister from fully becoming a demon, but Nezuko became a breakout favorite very quickly. Very soon into the manga's run, Lum outpaced Ataru as the face of Urusei Yatsura. I know I'm reaching for some of these, but I hope I've made my point clear: The Urusei Yatsura reboot already deserves a timeslot on Toonami in my eyes, and it's a personal dream pick of mine to see it on there.
